You've got a big RV to cool and chilly mornings that sneak up fast. This rooftop unit from GE Appliances has an AC for hot days and a built-in heat pump for cooler nights. Great for saving propane by using electric heat during cooler weather.
If you've got more RV to cool, or you're chasing summer across the Southwest, a standard AC unit might not cut it. This 15,000 Btu rooftop system from GE Appliances gives you more cooling power for bigger rigs, hotter climates, or anyone who just wants to beat the heat. It gives you more muscle to handle hot days, high ceilings, and sun-baked campgrounds without breaking a sweat.
Heating with propane brings two problems: it costs more than you think, and you're never sure if you have enough to get through the night. This rooftop unit with a built-in heat pump changes that. The heat pump uses electric power to take the edge off cold mornings, so your furnace doesn't have to do all the work. You get reliable warmth through the same ceiling assembly you use for cooling, and the more you heat with electric, the less propane you burn. It's one less system to manage, and one more reason you can camp longer without thinking about your fuel gauge.
Ductless air conditioners move air straight into the RV without relying on ceiling ductwork, making them ideal for smaller rigs, retrofits, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or bonus room. If your RV has no ductwork, a ductless setup gives you cooling power you can feel.
A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with www.etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look together at this GE Appliances 15,000 BTU Black Deluxe Plus Ductless RV Air Conditioning System with Heat Pump. Now this is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner system on your RV's ductless system in your medium to large camper. This 15,000 BTU-per-hour air conditioner is going to cool evenly, and it has a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings. And this uses the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant, which meets the 2025 EPA regulations, so because of that, this will not be backwards compatible with any air conditioner system from 2024 and earlier.
This is a bolt-on installation with the included hardware that you see on the other end of my table there, and this is going to fit roofs from 2 to 6" thick with an opening size of 14 3/8" long by 14 3/8" wide. Looking at the dimensions of our air conditioner itself, the overall length from end to end is at 32 13/16" long. The overall width, 26 1/8" wide. The overall height is a little under 14" tall, and this unit weighs a little under 80 pounds. And this is going to run pretty quietly for you because the motor has sound-dampening grommets that are going to help reduce that annoying vibration and humming sounds, and as I mentioned, this does include a heat pump and, as you probably know, a heat pump pulls warmth from the air to heat the inside of your RV on those chilly mornings.
And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap on most RVs. This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof and opening. And this has been built tough for the road. This has been constructed of high-grade materials that are going to do a great job of withstanding extreme UV rays and that constant vibration that comes from going down the road. And as you can see here, this does feature a black, hard automotive-grade polymer shroud, So that's gonna protect the internal components from water, dirt, and debris, and it can be easily removed if you ever need to do any maintenance or cleaning or anything like that.
The wiring harness is tucked in underneath the unit, so all you'll have to do is pull that harness out through the opening in the roof when you have this on top of your roof. And then you do want to keep the rear of the air conditioner at least 18" away from any obstructions for proper ventilation. Let's take a closer look here at the components that come with this kit. So, of course, we'll get our air distribution box, and this has been built to handle road vibrations, as well, and everyday RV life. And giving you some overall measurements.
Looking at the width and the length, we're sitting at 21", and then when you have this installed in the ceiling of your RV, it's going to stick down about 2 to 2 1/2", so it doesn't take up a whole lot of head clearance at all inside your RV. This does feature this black single zone thermostat. It's going to be very easy to install with the included hardware. And we do have these really nice, easy-to-use buttons. And then we have a large display that's going to be backlit, so it's gonna be very easy to see your current settings and set any settings, no matter the light conditions. And then we do have our control box here and, you probably know, but the control box is basically the brains of the operation. It controls how your air conditioner operates and functions. So this is included. And again, I mentioned the hardware, the divider that goes inside of the air distribution box, so really everything that you need to get this system up and running, all from the trusted GE brand, a reliable brand name that is known worldwide for especially appliances inside of the home. You're gonna get that same trust and reliability into your RV. Now, if this isn't exactly what you're looking for, maybe you're looking for a different BTU rating, a different type of system, maybe, for a ducted system rather than this for the ductless system or even a different color of shroud. We have you covered. We do have a wide selection of air conditioner systems available from GE here at www.etrailer.com, so take a look at those other options and I'm confident you're gonna be able to find exactly what you need for your particular application. But if this is going to be what's going to work for you, that's great. Once you get this installed and up and running, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with the installation and the operation, so drop us a comment or a review on this product page and let us know how everything's working out for you and share some pictures, as well, of this installed on your rig. We'd love to see it. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
