Your RV needs better cooling in the summer, and a little heat on cold mornings won't hurt either. This GE Appliances rooftop unit pulls double duty with efficient AC and a builty-in heat pump that takes the edge off when temps dip.
Heating with propane brings two problems: it costs more than you think, and you're never sure if you have enough to get through the night. This rooftop unit with a built-in heat pump changes that. The heat pump uses electric power to take the edge off cold mornings, so your furnace doesn't have to do all the work. You get reliable warmth through the same ceiling assembly you use for cooling, and the more you heat with electric, the less propane you burn. It's one less system to manage, and one more reason you can camp longer without thinking about your fuel gauge.
This ducted air conditioner pushes cooled air through the vents in the ceiling, delivering consistent airflow across multiple rooms in your RV. With a GE ducted system, the rooftop unit connects to a ceiling assembly that ties into your existing ductwork, giving you whole-RV comfort with a clean, built-in look. It's a great choice for larger RVs or anyone who wants to control airflow from front to back, not just in the room below the AC. If you already have ducts in place, this setup gives you full-zone cooling without compromising space or layout.
A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at this GE Appliances 13,500 BTU black deluxe ducted RV air conditioning system with heat pump. Now this is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're looking to upgrade or add an air conditioner system on your RV's ducted system in your small to medium sized camper. And this 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner is going to cool evenly and it has a built-in heat pump for those chilly mornings. And this is coming all from a brand that you know and trust.
And this does use the more energy efficient R-32 refrigerant. So this is going to meet the 2025 EPA regulations, and because of that new R-32 refrigerant, this is not going to be backwards compatible with any air conditioning systems from 2024 or earlier. This will be a bolt-on installation with the included hardware that you see right there. And this is going to fit roofs from two inches to six inches thick with an opening size of 14 3/8 inches long by 14 3/8 inches wide. And just looking at the overall measurements of the unit itself, looking at the length from end to end, we're sitting right at about 32 13/16 inches long.
The overall width right at about 26 1/8 inches wide and the overall height, almost 14 inches tall, a little bit under 14 at 13 15/16 inches tall. And the unit itself weighs slightly under 80 pounds. So this is gonna run quietly because the motor has sound dampening grommets to help reduce that annoying humming sound and vibrations. And as I mentioned, this does include a heat pump and as you probably know, that heat pump is gonna pull warmth from the air to heat the inside of your RV on those chilly mornings. And this is gonna be a pretty easy swap for most RVs.
It's going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof vent opening, and this is built tough for the road. It's made to go. It's made for life on the road if you will. It's constructed of high grade materials that's gonna withstand extreme UV rays and that constant vibration from going down the road. This does feature a black automotive, a hard automotive grade polymer shroud that's gonna protect the internal components from water, dirt, and debris.
And it's gonna be able to be easily removed as well if you need to do any maintenance or cleaning on the inside. This does include a wiring harness underneath and it is important that you keep the rear of the AC at least 18 inches away from any obstructions when you install this. I do wanna take a closer look at this side of the table to go over what's included with this system. So this does include this air distribution box and this is also built to handle the road vibrations and everyday RV life, giving you a view of the other side here as well. And when you have this installed in the ceiling of your RV, this is going to stick down or stick out about 5/8 of an inch. So it's not gonna take up a whole lot of headroom in your RV, which is great. Looking at the overall width and length, it's gonna be about 17 5/8 inches. We also get this black thermostat here. Lemme bring this closer up here just so you have a better view of it. So this is a single zone thermostat that's going to include these very easy to use buttons that are really nice large display that's going to be backlit. So you're gonna be able to easily read this and in all kinds of lighting conditions it's gonna be easy to see the temperature and the settings and set those settings as well. This does include the hardware to get this installed into place. And then you're going to get this fireproof control box, control board. It's going to control, send instructions to your air conditioning unit. So this is also included, so virtually everything that you need to get up and running with this new air conditioning system. And again, this is from a trusted brand, GE. It's a reliable name that you know, especially for your home appliances. So you're bringing that same trusted name and reliability into your RV as well, which is great. Now, if this system isn't exactly what you're looking for, maybe you're looking for a different type of system or a higher rated BTU system, we do have other options available here from GE. So take a look at those other options that we have from GE and even from other companies as well. I'm confident you're gonna be able to find exactly what you're looking for for your particular application. If you do decide that this is going to be what you need, once you get it installed and you've been using it, we would love to hear your experience installing this and using this. So share your experience with us in the comments section of this product page or leave us a review as well. We would love to hear back from you and especially see photos of your setup as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
I haven't installed the AC unit yet. I just wanted to say that the ordering process is extremely easy to complete the transaction process. Checking out of the cart is routine and completed in minutes. I was on the road traveling and decided to order the AC unit and have it delivered to my house. Checking out process has the option to deliver your order to an E-Trailer trusted agent business. I requested to have the AC unit delivered to a trusted agent near my traveling location. who work with E-trailer. The agent was extremely helpful loaded in my truck. Just waiting to get it installed this sometime this week.
excellent product, installation was as easy as you could get, make sure you have 12 volts at the control box as the t/stat gets its power from the control box, it only needs three wires down to the t/stat, unless you are hooking up your furnace to it then you would need five. I used this unit to replace a coleman mach 10 a/c only and its much quieter and colder with better air flow, looking forward to seeing how well the heat pump works in the cold weather, I did try it on a 55 degree morning and it worked well. Comes in two boxes and is packed very well with Styrofoam all around unit, this was installed on a Grand Design Reflection 320 MKS fifth wheel front unit. Theres no better company to deal with than Etrailer, they stand behind all their products and shipping issues.
