Do I Need To Drill Or Cut When Installing TowSmart Hitch On 2024 Subaru Outback?

Question:
Does this hitch require any cutting or drilling on a 2024 Subaru Outback?

That’s a fair question, Tom. The TowSmart # TS34ZR is a no-drill install, but you will need to trim the heat shield slightly around the forward mounting points to make room for the bolts. No cutting of the bumper or fascia is required.
The process includes lowering the exhaust, fishing bolts through the frame, and torquing them to 70 ft-lbs - pretty standard for Subaru hitch installs. We don't have an install video of this specific hitch, but it's identical to the curt hitch as far as installation goes, so I've attached that installation video for you to check out on the Curt hitch.
If you’ll be towing, make sure to grab the T-One Wiring Harness # 118467 for lights and the Ball Mount Kit # 989891 for your hitch balls.
Are you planning to tow or just use it for a bike rack or something like that?
