Features to know about

Add Real Utility to Your Ride: Class III Strength and 2" Receiver

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is built for real-world use, whether it’s hauling a small trailer or mounting a bike rack. With a 5,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 750-lb maximum tongue weight, it’s strong enough for towing campers, boats, or utility trailers. The 2" x 2" opening works with the most common ball mounts, cargo carriers, and racks, so you can hook up what you already have without needing adapters.

Clean Look That Doesn’t Stick Out: Concealed Cross Tube Design

The main body of the hitch tucks neatly behind the bumper so only the receiver is visible. That makes for a cleaner, more integrated look and helps with ground clearance. You get the full function of a heavy-duty hitch without adding bulk underneath the vehicle.

DIY-Friendly Mounting: Bolt-On Install with Complete Hardware Kit

You don’t need to weld or modify anything to get this hitch on. It’s designed for a bolt-on installation using pre-existing holes in the frame. All mounting hardware and instructions are included, so you can get it done at home with basic tools.

Built to Last Through the Elements: Sturdy Steel with Dual-Coat Protection

The square-tube steel construction is fully welded for precision and durability. A gloss black powder coat finish sits over a rust-resistant liquid A-coat inside and out, so road salt and moisture won’t eat away at it over time. Every hitch is tested to meet SAE J684 safety standards, giving you confidence in its long-term strength and reliability.

Got my order with free shipping in no time! Nice products, good instructions completed project in less than 2 hours. Very happy customer here!

by:

Easy installl. Only problem was factory bolt holes had a lot of paint in them making hard to get bolts started. This is 3rd or 4th hitch I have bought from etrailer and I always receive within 2 days. Fast and friendly service. Bud answered all of my questions

Thank you

Review for the Curt hitch and 4 plug wiring harness for a Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Both items were packaged very well and arrived crazy quick with no damage or missing parts. Included instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I put the vehicle rear wheels on a set of ramps which gave plenty of room to work inside my garage.
The only challenge I will mention is the install of the passenger side hitch bolts. The two side bolts are blocked almost completely by the hitch gusseting as well as the vehicle muffler. You will need a long extension and a wobble to tighten these bolts down. Honestly, if I had it to do over again I would save myself a lot of grief and just remove the muffler completely before I got started.
All in all, not too bad with the right tools and a positive attitude. The wiring is plug and play, and took just a few minutes. I tucked the lead behind the bumper, but if you plan to use the plug on a regular basis, don't forget to buy the bracket. It does not come with the hitch itself.
ETrailer is the only place I go for anything towing related. Great people!

I really appreciate you telling the details of what you would have done differently to make it an easier process. Thats what makes a review so valuable, the first hand experience and insight. Thanks, James!

I only buy vehicle hitches from you all! The video of how to install it myself was spot on! Shipping was fast!!!

by:

Easy ordering process and quick delivery. installation videos and instructions were all very good. I installed the hitch myself in about one hour. The quality of the hitch is excellent.

by:

Great product! Fitment was perfect. Perhaps the absolute best part of buying this product was buying it through etrailer.com because the installation video was imperative to a flawless install.

by:

Everything was plug and play. No issues installing and the supplemental video was useful. Will buy again if needed

by:

I have installed a hitch with wiring on both my 2922 tucan and Santa Cruz, both installations went well with no problems, even for this 76 year old.

by:

Hitch arrived VERY FAST, and with all necessary accessories. Took about 2 hours to install with 2 people, as the hitch was heavy and awkward to hold in position while starting the bolts. Bolts were easy to access and tighten on driver side, however on passenger side, it was extremely difficult to hold wrench/socket to bolts so as to not round bolt heads when tightening. Hitch distance between frame member plates was slightly less than frame spacing. Recommend all bolts be very loosely installed and THEN passenger side bolts be fully tightened and torqued before tightening and torquing driver side bolts. I recommend the hitch support structure for passenger side bolts be trimmed back about 1/4 to 3/16" to allow socket to fully seat on bolt heads. This would then allow necessary extensions to be used to more easily tighten the bolts without the danger of rounding the bolt heads.

by:

Like all Kurt products it installed with excellent instructions and a minimum amount of hassle. It took some physical effort but there were no surprises. I just actually used it for the first time this last week. Trailered a 900 lb. motorcycle 400 miles and back with no issues. Great values for the money.

by:

Product arrived quickly , fast and easy installation ,looks great on the new 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz now we are ready for towing the jet skis to the lake or the motorcycle trailer to the races .price was much cheaper than the Hyundai factory hitch if not same as or better quality .to install hitch , wiring ,ball mount took 45 min Will definitely tell my friends &family

by:

Received with paint chips and bent.

by:

This is my second receiver (Prius and Santa Cruz). Both have been a piece of cake to install. Every hole where it should be and the videos take away any doubt how to install.

by:

Fit 2025 Santacruz perfectly. Easy to i nstall.

by:

Quality of product appears excellent. Install was fairly straightforward. Recommend initially using exhaust to rest passenger side of receiver for fastener starting, before lowing exhaust to make room for torquing. Recommend a hitch riser to increase resultant height of tow ball.

by:

Pleasantly surprised finding a tow hitch and a recommend installer for my 2025 Santa Cruz! Delivery was on time and made contact with the installer, all was E Z peasy. Just waiting on the OEM wire harness to schedule the hitch install. Plan to to take before and after pics.

by:

Just as you advertised. Promp shipping and excellent back up video.

by:

Excellent product. Easy installation.

by:

I really like the product the Trailer Hitch hooked up to my truck with no problem

by:

easy to install. Youtube videos made it easy

by:

Excellent engineering. It’s was a simple bolt on hitch with no drilling or any headwork. I did have to temporarily remove a couple muffler hangers and the spare tire, it added a few minutes to the job. After I was done I realized the receiver Sat several inches below the rear bumper. Why? I have an XRT, the bumper is thinner and allows for a greater departure angle when off roading. I’ll be looking for a receiver that is better suited for my model.

by:

I dont need to tow often any more, but when you need it, you need it ! So far, I've only had to tow once, but it worked exactly as I would expect. The installation was super easy and completed in about an hour.

by:

I was able to install this tow hitch with no issues and was uncomplicated with the detailed instructions and watching Utube. I have hauled trailers and when I moved from Washington State to Nevada I hauled a car on a tow Dolly with it works great and avoided spending lots of money having it installed by a tow shop.

by:

We love the hitch! It was easy to install (except for the rusted bolts on the Frame). It does not stick out unless the ball assembly is in. It blends right in to the vehicle. The lighting kit was also easy to install because everything needed was provided. The price was also very reasonable.

  • Recommended Wiring Harness for a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz
Hey Joe. There's no timeline for when a plug in wiring harness will be available for a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz. I completely get your resistance to wanting to cut into the wiring on your brand new vehicle. Congrats btw! The only solution I have for you is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit item # 119250KIT. The ZCI item # 119250KIT clamps to your Santa Cruz's wires instead of splicing into them. The sensor detects the...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring, and Brake Controller for 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz
It sounds like you would like to add a trailer brake controller to your 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz to use along with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C23WR. The first thing you will want to add, in addition to the trailer hitch, is wiring. You are going to need a 4-way in order to power your trailer's signal lights. If you have the factory tow package and tow package you need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # CU94FR. This wiring harness will plug into the connection point in...

Hey William, the Curt hitch part # C23WR that fits your 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz does not require modifying the bumper cover at all. For trailer wiring that is the plug in style that does not require splicing you would want the part # CU94FR.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz
Hey Phillip, so we are definitely here to help! So for a hitch the Curt Class III part # C23WR is a really great option that ends up mostly hidden once installed and has great towing capacities. Then for trailer wiring what you'd want is the # C68JR for a 7-way and you'd be set! This is the same type of round connector that your trailer has currently.

  • Trailer Hitch, Wiring, and Brake Controller for 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz
Hi Heeth! I see you already ordered 7-way wiring and the Curt TriFlex NEXT # C25YV. Did you also find a hitch? If not, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C23WR. However, aftermarket hitches are not compatible with a weight distribution hitch so you won't be able to use one. The same is probably true for an OEM hitch and it is the vehicle that is the limiting factor. Once you get everything hooked up take a look and see if you have a lot of sag from your trailer. • Is Curt or Draw-Tite Hitch For 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Least Visible
Hey Gene, first of all, thanks very much for the kind words it is absolutely appreciated. And between the two hitches for your 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, the one that is least visible is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C23WR. When we test fit these, we found the # C23WR is tucked up about an inch more than the Draw-Tite # DT48GR. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight. I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts completely behind the rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver exposed. This not only looks better but it helps with ground clearance. Since you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item...

Hey Frederick. The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C23WR and the Draw-Tite Hitch item # DT48GR are almost identical and are both confirmed to fit the 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz. The differences between the two hitches are that the Curt is made in the USA and the Draw-Tite has a built in tab to mount a 4-way or 7-way wiring bracket. The bottom of the receiver for both sits 10-3/4" above the ground. I recommend going with the Curt Hitch item # C23WR because of the better price point as of 04/24/2025....
