Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Bolt-On Design

Installing your trailer hitch shouldn’t require an engineering degree, and with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver's bolt-on design, it doesn't. This custom-fit hitch is designed specifically for your vehicle, ensuring a perfect fit without any welding required. The included complete hardware kit simplifies setup, and most users find themselves completing the task in less than an hour, even without professional help. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or just looking to save a few bucks on installation, the process is quick and straightforward.

Protect Your Investment: Powder Coated Finish

Rust and corrosion can be the ultimate foes of any hitch. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver offers robust protection with its gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat. This thoughtful engineering detail ensures superior rust resistance, meaning your hitch will look good and function well, regardless of the weather or road conditions it faces. Keep your hitch looking pristine and performing like new, year after year.

Versatile and Strong: 2-Inch Receiver and Class III Rating

Whether you’re towing a small trailer or carrying bikes for a weekend adventure, the Curt hitch has you covered. Featuring a 2-inch x 2-inch receiver opening, it accommodates a wide range of hitch-mounted accessories, making it versatile for various towing needs. With a Class III rating, it can handle up to 3,500 lbs Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and 525 lbs Tongue Weight (TW), or an impressive 4,000 lbs GTW and 525 lbs TW when used with weight distribution. It's a powerhouse that can support your towing adventures reliably.

Navigate Any Bump with Confidence: Designed for Low-Riding Vans

Got a low-riding Ford Transit Connect? Worried about ground clearance with a steep driveway or ramp? The Curt Trailer Hitch is designed with a slim profile to maintain about 10 inches of ground clearance, providing confidence as you navigate uneven terrains or elevation changes. It smartly preserves functionality while staying safely tucked away, reducing concerns about bottoming out or scraping.

Carry Heavy Loads Smoothly: High Tongue Weight Capacity

Looking to transport hefty gear like motorcycles or wheelchairs on a cargo carrier? With a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs, this hitch gives you the freedom to carry substantial loads directly at the vehicle’s rear without sacrificing stability. Ensure smooth rides with no unnecessary sag or sway, keeping your vehicle balanced and safe on the road.

Precision Fit Every Time: Custom-Fit for Your Vehicle

Forget about the hassle of figuring out if a hitch will fit your specific vehicle. With Curt’s precision custom-fit design, this hitch is tailored to integrate seamlessly with your Ford Transit Connect. It's designed to complement the vehicle’s contours and mounting points for a snug, secure fit—it’s almost as if your vehicle rolled out of the factory with it installed.

  • Availability Of A Trailer Hitch For A 2024 Ford Transit T150
We do offer trailer hitches for the 2023 Ford Transit T150 like the Curt # C14012, however we cannot yet confirm fitment for the 2024 models as of December 2023. It is quite possible that the 2023 hitch will carry over to 2024 but we cannot say for sure until either we install one here at our shop, or we receive fitment information from the manufacturer. That being said, we are constantly adding new fitment information, so please check back with us as we should be adding more products...

  • Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendations for 2015 Ford Transit T-150 Van
Curt offers a Class III or IV hitch for your Fort Transit T-150 van. The Class III, part # C13193 has a 6000 lb towing/900 lb tongue weight capacity. The Class IV, part # C14012 has a 10,000 lb towing/1000 lb tongue weight capacity. You'll be limited by the capacity of the vehicle, if its lower than the capacity of the hitch. The Curt # C13167 is a fit for the Transit Connect, and won't fit the full size Transit. For wiring, I'd recommend the # C56327 to provide a 4-pole trailer connector....

  • Curt Trailer Hitch vs. etrailer Trailer Hitch For 2023 Ford Transit Connect
There is just a single difference between the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches that fit your 2023 Ford Transit Connect, which is the finish. The Curt has a glossier finish than the matte black finish of the etrailer hitch, so you can choose which you prefer. The hitches that fit your '23 Ford Transit Connect are the following part numbers: - etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e77AR - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13167 The matte black finish is nice as it hides the inevitable dings,...

  • What Swinging Bike Carrier and Cargo Box Solution do You Recommend for My 2021 Ford Transit Connect?
I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Yakima, and they unfortunately do not have the measurement of the length of the Yakima EXO # Y34ZR when it is open to the full 90-degree swing away position. However, I did some research on the overall width of your vehicle compared to the width of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson featured in the attached review video. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson measures 72.8 inches wide and has plenty of room to fully open the rear hatch while clearing the EXO system...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver that Does Not Stick Out Passed Bumper on a Ford Transit Connect
It's possible but without knowing the model year of your Ford Transit Connect I can't say for sure. All of the trailer hitch receivers we have from the 2010 through 2013 model years do stick out some from the rear bumper. However, if you have between 2014 and 2017 the Curt # C13167 sit just under the bumper. Take a look at the picture I've attached that shows the one we installed. I've also linked the install video.

  • Replacement Hardware Kit For Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver 13167
For all of the replacement hardware and pull wires to reinstall your Curt trailer Hitch Receiver # C13167 on your 2020 Ford Transit Connect you will need the replacement hardware kit # RHK. When on the product page of the # RHK you will select Curt from the drop down menu and then enter 13167 in the hitch item number box. I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Ground Clearance for Curt Hitch Installed on 2018 Ford Transit Connect
When installed on your 2018 Ford Transit Connect the Curt hitch part # C13167 is going to have about 10 inches of ground clearance. Since your vehicle sits so low to the ground it's hard to fit a hitch there and have decent ground clearance.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2022 Ford Transit Connect
The best hitch option for your 2022 Ford Transit Connect is the Curt part # C13167 as it's a 2 inch hitch which means it has better towing capacities and is the hitch that most accessories are made for like bike racks/cargo carriers. If you plan to do some towing yes you would need trailer wiring, but if you didn't have plans to tow it would not be needed. The best trailer wiring kit would be the # 118613.

  • Is There a 1-1/4 inch Hitch Available for a 2014 Ford Transit Connect
For your 2014 Ford Transit Connect there is a Curt Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch available for your vehicle. For that you would want the part # C12123. Curt requires the use of their stabilizer strap part # 18050 when using their hitch to carry a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a review video for you to check for the strap as well.

  • Can Spare Tire on 2016 Ford Transit Connect be Removed with Curt Trailer Hitch Installed
Once the Curt trailer hitch # C13167 is installed on a 2016 Ford Transit Connect it will measure about 3 inches from the bottom of the rear bumper to the bottom of the hitch. If you measure from level ground up to the bottom of the bumper and subtract 3 inches that is the approximate location the bottom of the hitch will be. • Does Curt 13167 Come With Mounting Tab for Trailer Wiring
Hi Blaine; I'm not sure what video you saw but the Curt # C13167 does not come with an adapter welded on. What you may have seen is a mounting bracket like the # C57202 along with # 18144 attached. The only hitch we have that comes with a bracket welded on to mount a 4-way or 7-way is the # 75852.

  • Could Curt Hitch for 2014 Ford Transit Connect Carry Motorcycle Carrier
The Curt hitch part # C13167 that you referenced has a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs so as long as the carrier you are wanting to go with weighs less than 125 lb this would work great. With that much weight on the rear of the vehicle suspension enhancement like the part # CSS-1145R would be a great option to prevent sag. I attached a link on this page that will help you find a local installer as well.

Curt's 2-inch Class III hitch model # C13167 offers no-drill installation on your 2017 Ford Transit Connect as shown in the linked video. We here at etrailer have not yet had a local customer with your same vehicle/tires have this hitch installed, not has my technical contact at Curt seen this specific combination. I linked an install video for the similar Curt hitch # C13167 - also a confirmed fit. For a wiring harness for towing you can use the Tow Ready 4-pole wiring kit # 118613. • Trailer Hitch and Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2015 Ford Transit T150
If the connector you found looks like the round connector in the picture I attached all you would need to add a 7-way to your vehicle would be the part # HM40975 as this would plug into this connector. Now since you have a 7-way you would just need to wire it up so that your controller would work with it. First let's start with a brake controller. You can definitely use a hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver, like the Curt # C12123, for using a bike rack on your 2017 Ford Transit Connect. We just typically recommend going with a 2" receiver, like the Curt # C13167, just because the pricing tends to be somewhat similar and you can use a wider variety of accessories with a 2" receiver.
