Features to know about

Get More Utility Out of Your Vehicle: Add a Class III 2" Hitch with 3,500 lbs GTW

With a 3,500-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 525-lb tongue weight rating, this hitch is built for everyday towing and hauling. It’s perfect for adding a cargo basket, mounting bike racks, or pulling small campers and trailers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening gives you flexibility for most accessories, and when paired with weight distribution, the capacity increases to 4,000 lbs GTW and 525 lbs TW.

Install It Yourself Without Welding: Bolt-On Design with Complete Hardware Kit

The fully welded design bolts directly to the frame, so you don’t need to weld or modify anything. All the mounting hardware and instructions come in the box, making it a straightforward job in the driveway with basic tools. It lines up cleanly for a precise fit thanks to robotic welding that ensures alignment and strength where it counts.

Built to Last Through Every Tow: Powder-Coated Steel Resists Corrosion

The hitch is made from sturdy steel with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat. This layered finish holds up against rust and road grime, keeping it looking sharp while maintaining its structural strength. The round-tube design adds a polished appearance under the bumper while staying tough enough for long-term use in all conditions.

Ready for Everyday Hauling: Versatile Class III Receiver Works with Common Gear

This Class III receiver is built for more than towing—it’s also great for carrying bikes or gear trays without needing adapters. The 2" size matches what most accessories are designed for, so your existing equipment fits right in. Whether it’s weekend rides or light work duty, this hitch gives you the flexibility to make full use of your vehicle’s hauling potential.

Great trailer hitch!!!!!!!

by:

I ordered this on Sunday afternoon and it was snug to the frame on Tuesday. The only thing that slowed my installation was not believing how easy those bolts dropped into position. Just follow the video instructions and be not afraid.

by:

The Hitch is very well made and is quite easy to install. Videos help. The Customer Service Representative lady, Joanne K, is a great professional. Her expertise was 100% comprehensive, and it was my pleasure to speak with her.

by:

Order was delivered on time and in great shape. Simple install.

by:

Minimal visual impact. Super easy installation. 4 bolts and it's done.

Nothing better than a simple install! I am glad it was simple to install, and glad it looks clean on the vehicle. What are you planning to use the hitch for?

by:

Fast delivery - great product - easy in stall!

by:

Seems to be everything I expected and it only took me 15min to install. The hardware provided was very straightforward and easy to use. I’m super happy they made hitches for the Transit Connect!!

GOOD CUSTOMER SVC

by:

Super easy to install and the wife loves it!! Going to be attaching the Curt cargo carrier to it this weekend and heading out on a 2 week vacation. Thanks Brian at etrailer for making everything so easy to order.

by:

8th hitch I've installed from etrailer and their products, installation instructions, and service have always been outstanding. Installed this hitch on a 2015 Ford Transit Connect Wagon and it took about 30 minutes. The fishing wire they include for installation is the best tool ever invented!

by:

Super easy install and bolt fish device makes routing bolts super quick.
The videos for my exact vehicle is great back up too.

by:

There was a video on YouTube made by E trailer I believe. it was very helpful. I was working by myself so I drove the car up on some blocks to give myself a little more leeway and then used a milk crate to sit it on. I then cut 2 Boards about 18 inches long to prop it up in place. I could see where the holes were supposed to go. there serval up and I know u pointed them out But I didn’t wanna make a mistake and get it all set up and then be in the wrong hole. I’ve been using the same system to put it in place when the bolts were there and I didn’t have to worry about holding it up while I tightened them.
I was also pleased The service when I called and the price. It took me about an hour not to 30 minutes from the store nervous but I was working alone.

I received my hitch for my 2014 Ford Transit Connect XLT Wagon (long wheel base model) from etrailer.com and couldn't be happier with the purchase. Their descriptive website and how-to video made me confident these guys knew what they were doing. The hitch arrived quickly, packed well with all the mounting hardware and install documents. Following the directions, I had it installed in 15 min and am ready to throw my bike rack on it and hit the trails. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone!

by:

Everything about this purchase was excellent. The website and check-out process is a breeze to navigate; the reviews are helpful, and there are tons of how-to videos and helpful tips for installation. And it's great living in KC; I placed my order at 4pm on Wed., and the product arrived the NEXT DAY! As far as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, it really did install in less than 30min. on my 2014 Transit Connect XLT. I watched the install video on YouTube a few times; without a car lift and extra set of hands, I used a couple of quart-sized paint cans to hold up the receiver end, then kinda wiggled one side up to the bolts just enough to get the nut started; then the next one, then the other side. Grabbed my sockets and drove to O-Reilly's where they rented me a torque wrench (using my Driver's License as collateral); guy was cool -no paperwork/deposit/return...just torqued the bolts right there in the parking lot in 2 minutes. Outstanding!!

by:

Fast shipping and excellent customer

by:

The trailer hitch and accessories were easy to install and are used regularly. The online videos help get the job done efficiently. Also, I appreciate being able to order through my local R/V store. You are my goto folks for truck and trailer gear.

by:

Great company, Great products and great customer service! These are the Go-To people!

by:

Easy to install using the provided video instructions. This has been my fourth hitch install from etrailer. This particular hitch has proven very sturdy, especially when one of my neighbors hit my bike rack and drove off.

by:

This is my second hitch from etrailer. I mainly use a hitch mounted bike rack and just switched vehicles, so this was my first upgrade to my van. This hitch is super beefy, and may be overkill for my needs, but I may need to tow a trailer some day. Everything installed as easily as was shown in their video, and left me feeling very confident as there was no guess work. Including the unboxing of the hitch (and rewatching the installation video more than once) took less than 30 minutes to install. I couldn’t be happier.

by:

The hitch was delivered within 3 days of my order and all hardware was enclosed. Installation was relatively simple, only 4 bolts and nuts. It could be a 2-person job if you don’t have some way to support the hitch while attaching it to the vehicle. We used a couple of wood blocks to hold the hitch while I attached the bolts. The process went very well-much better than I had anticipated. Watching the online videos and planning a little before I started made the difference. The hitch fit nicely and I’ve already used it for my bike rack. I’d highly recommend the Curt hitch.

by:

The video made it easy to install even though I still made a mistake. The hitch is close to flush and looks nice. I use it for my bike rack.

Great!

by:

I was surprised that the hitch was delivered less than 24 hours after I ordered it. It wasn’t difficult to install, took me about 30 minutes. I’ll be using it tomorrow, thanks!

by:

I installed the hitch with my bike rack on in 30 minutes after it arrived …Its only 4 bolts, I even accidently pushed one of the bolts back into the frame and had to wiggle it out with my little finger! I watched the video once and never looked at the instructions..That simple..seriously .. Boom, done!

My hitch installation was so easy and after a year of use it has hauled so well I forgot I was the guy who installed it

by:

Shipped quickly. Exact fit and straightforward installation! Thanks!

by:

I’m extremely happy with this purchase. The hitch is very well made, with an excellent powder-coated finish, and it fit my Ford perfectly. Every mounting hole lined up exactly with the factory locations, making the installation quick and straightforward. It took me about 15 minutes to install, and I believe most people could easily do it themselves.

I also purchased the custom wiring harness, which is designed specifically for my vehicle. Installation was just as easy—everything plugged directly into the factory connectors with no cutting or splicing required.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the quality, fitment, and ease of installation. I highly recommend both the hitch and the wiring harness.

  • What To Do If Access Holes In Frame Are Not Large Enough To Fish Bolts Thru?
Hello William, thanks for reaching out. I have heard of this happening before. What you can do is enlarge the holes slightly with a drill or a file or something. Shouldn't take too much to open the hole up enough to get the bolt thru.

  • Curt Trailer Hitch vs. etrailer Trailer Hitch For 2023 Ford Transit Connect
There is just a single difference between the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches that fit your 2023 Ford Transit Connect, which is the finish. The Curt has a glossier finish than the matte black finish of the etrailer hitch, so you can choose which you prefer. The hitches that fit your '23 Ford Transit Connect are the following part numbers: - etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e77AR - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13167 The matte black finish is nice as it hides the inevitable dings,...

  • What Swinging Bike Carrier and Cargo Box Solution do You Recommend for My 2021 Ford Transit Connect?
I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Yakima, and they unfortunately do not have the measurement of the length of the Yakima EXO # Y34ZR when it is open to the full 90-degree swing away position. However, I did some research on the overall width of your vehicle compared to the width of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson featured in the attached review video. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson measures 72.8 inches wide and has plenty of room to fully open the rear hatch while clearing the EXO system...

  • Trailer Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendations for 2015 Ford Transit T-150 Van
Curt offers a Class III or IV hitch for your Fort Transit T-150 van. The Class III, part # C13193 has a 6000 lb towing/900 lb tongue weight capacity. The Class IV, part # C14012 has a 10,000 lb towing/1000 lb tongue weight capacity. You'll be limited by the capacity of the vehicle, if its lower than the capacity of the hitch. The Curt # C13167 is a fit for the Transit Connect, and won't fit the full size Transit. For wiring, I'd recommend the # C56327 to provide a 4-pole trailer connector....

However, if you have between 2014 and 2017 the Curt # C13167 sit just under the bumper. Take a look at the picture I've attached that shows the one we installed. I've also linked the install video.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2022 Ford Transit Connect
The best hitch option for your 2022 Ford Transit Connect is the Curt part # C13167 as it's a 2 inch hitch which means it has better towing capacities and is the hitch that most accessories are made for like bike racks/cargo carriers. If you plan to do some towing yes you would need trailer wiring, but if you didn't have plans to tow it would not be needed. The best trailer wiring kit would be the # 118613.
