This custom fit Curt trailer hitch receiver gives you a solid 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" opening for light-duty towing or carrying gear. With a 2,000 lb maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lb maximum tongue weight, it’s right for small trailers, cargo carriers, or two-bike racks. The sturdy square-tube design and fully welded steel construction keep it stable every mile.
You don’t need a shop lift or welding experience to get this hitch mounted. It uses bolt-on installation and comes with the complete hardware kit and instructions, so you can handle the install in a driveway with common tools. I installed this on a 2013 Fiat 500e (Electric vehicle). No cutting of the bumper was needed. It was a tight fit but it installed perfectly.
Fit great with MPX axle back just like they said.
I've owned the hitch for the non turbo and this one seems much stronger.
It even has an extra bolt on the passenger side.
Definitely worth the money!
...finally purchased the Curt Hitch for my Fiat after seeing how simple it would be to install after watching etrailer.com's install video specific for my vehicle... it took about 45 minutes to do by myself and the result is amazing - it's hardly visible and barely sticks out the back...
Installed on my fiat 500 to carry my bicycles when I tow it behind RV, Install was easy, great installations instructions and the finished product was superb!!!
Great hitch! Fits perfectly in fiat abarth. All I had to do was drill one hole. Took about 30 mins to complete project. Hardest part was removing rubbers holding exhaust. Instructions were very helpful. I will be using hitch with a thule vertex 2 bike carrier.
Pros:
* Great customer service from etrailer (they are always wonderful!)
* hitch bolted straight up, no issues
* install video was very detailed and super helpful
Cons:
* The slots for the bolts in the hitch were a bit snug and I had to file down some paint to get the bolts in. (Probably extra paint)
* I was missing one flat washer, so had to do a quick store run
Overall great experience, I'm super happy with the rack and always super happy buying from etrailer.
One minor aside:
Curt either has the compatibility dates wrong on which vehicles this fits or I got away with one. I've got a 2019 Fiat 500 Abarth and this was a direct bolt in. Both Curt and etrailer both say that this doesn't fit my vehicle, but it does. Luckily I was able to confirm via the install video prior to buying. Your mileage may very, but double check if you're looking.
People generally laugh when they see a hitch on my fiat 500 abarth. But this little guy has served me so well! Hailing my bikes around, even a little flat bed. Does the job perfectly!
Fit perfectly. Just follow the instructions to the "T". If you are also installing the wire kit be sure to do that while you have the rear diffuser off. Otherwise, you will have to take it back off anyways to run the wires. Also, after you run the fisher cables through for the bolts it is easier if you unscrew the fish wires rather that try to yank them off.
Easy installation and high quality.
This hitch receiver was mounted by Rack Attack in Seattle on my 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth. The service tech stated that the instructions were easy to follow -- the pictures helped. So far, the hitch receiver is working great for my Kuat Tranfer V2 bike rack.
I've been using this to tow my kayak trailer for a year now and its been holding up great!! It was fairly easy to install..I used a cordless ryobi and 1/2 inch steel drill bit. I only had to drill 2 holes and the rest was easy! The video tutorial was very helpful. No rust no issues a year later what so ever!! I definitely recommend buying from this company!!! Great customer support and excellent products!!
The curt trailer hitch recommended by e-trailer was installed and works perfectly for hauling my bikes behind my car. We have enjoyed many long distance journeys using my Curt trailer hitch receiver.
Received the product as described. It took 2 people 1.5 hrs to install on a '15 Fiat Abarth. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Some bolts were a different size between the installation guide and what we actually found.

Its still holding on strong with transporting our bikes.
I was asked to give this review and for once I didn't feel bugged for giving it because of constant harassment to do so by a company.
I was very happy about everything etrailer had to offer me , from the quickness in deliver to the product itself. I love how they had a installation video on my rare type of vehicle. This made my life easy and put a grin on my face. The hitch that I bought was for my Fiat Abarath and it was for a bike rack to be placed on my favorite car that would not be possible to place otherwise. It came with everything that I needed to install the hitch, which also made it easy for me.
Love this company and if I ever need another hitch or equipment for a hitch I am coming to them again for it for sure.
Bought this for my Abarth so when camping we could carry the bikes without getting killed riding on major roads to get to bike paths. Hitch went on almost as advertised took about 20 minutes longer . No big deal.
Hides very well into the car so no scraped shins walking around the back. The strap that they want you to use
Doesn’t really work well with the fiat hatch . So routed it down the inside and out the back to the bike rack, good but not great. I have E bikes so they are heavy probably ok with regular bikes. If you are using your car as a toad and want to carry bikes once at destination this is a good option . Plus you can plug and play a grill if on a picnic.
The Hitch is very heavy -thicker and larger than the frame of the car itself- the bolt holes on the hitch are too small for the provided bolts. Exhaust hanger does not line up and it sits up against fuel vent hoses in the rear of the car. Not a well designed product.

Great product and service - Took only two days to get from Missouri to Arizona where my dealer installed the hitch in just two hours with no problems at all. And as you can see from the picture it held a bike carrier wonderfully transporting two road bikes the next day! Couldn't be happier
Learn from me - Measure twice cut once. I didn't cut the fascia wide enough, then I opened up the wrong hole. After correcting my two mistakes, everything went smoothly. Took me about an hour and a half to do by myself. The hitch seems well built, and shows with its weight, I kind of felt bad putting the extra weight on. I have yet to pull anything with it, but I am confident my little abarth paired with this hitch will do a fine job.
This hitch was perfect for adding our Kuat bike rack to our little Fiat. It has held up great and the install went smoothly. The install kit was one of the more well thought out DIY kits I have worked with and did not require any modifications. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Purchased the Curt 1 1/4 hitch for my 2016 Fiat Abarth was a perfect fit. My 2 carrier bike rack fits perfectly. U haul did not have one to fit. Tried at least 2 of their hitches!!
I installed this on my 2012 500 Abarth and it fits great! I just had move the fuel tank vent hose aside slightly on the passenger side to get the bracket to align with the holes. Now I can easily haul my mountain bike to all the trails
I had a really difficult time getting the carriage bolts through the holes in the hitch. There really was almost not enough clearance. I had to use a set of pliers to pull them all through. The install video for this part made that part look much easier so that was frustrating, I almost thought I was sent the wrong size bolts
