This Curt trailer hitch receiver is made for light-duty towing and everyday hauling. With a Class I rating, a 2,000-lb gross trailer weight capacity, and 200-lb tongue weight limit, it’s right at home pulling a small utility trailer or carrying a bike rack or cargo carrier. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening is the standard size for compact setups and easily matches most Class I ball mounts and accessories.
You don’t need welding gear or a lift to get this hitch installed. The fully welded design bolts directly to factory attachment points using the included hardware kit, so you can handle the whole project with hand tools and a torque wrench. Precision robotic welding ensures the bolt holes line up correctly for a solid fit that doesn’t fight you during install.
The round-tube frame is made from welded steel and finished in gloss black powder coat over a protective base layer for better rust resistance. It holds up well against weather, road grime, and salt, keeping its clean look longer. The visible cross tube keeps the receiver stable while maintaining a simple, low-profile appearance under the bumper.
Once bolted up, this receiver opens up what you can do with your vehicle—carry a two-bike rack for weekend rides or hook up a small trailer for yard work or camping gear. the trailer hitch and wiring are both working well for us after about a years use . after having this thing for awhile i find it is just what i needed . i like the fact that when it is not being used the wiring goes in the trunk out of the weather .

I see that youre using an adapter so your 2 inch bike rack will work in your Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. Please be aware that an adapter will lower the tongue weight capacity of the hitch maximum amount of downward force that can safely be applied by half, from 200 to 100 lbs. This means that the weight of the bikes plus the rack that carries them should not exceed 100 lbs. It looks like youre using a 3-bike rack. The hitch and bike rack manufacturers agree that no more than 2 bikes should be carried on a rack used in a Class I hitch, due to its lower tongue weight capacity. That third bike places a lot of additional leverage further away from the vehicle, which can result in the rack, hitch or the attachment point between the hitch and vehicle to be damaged.

After a year, its still holding strong. I even got rear-ended with my bike rack attached. The rack was damaged, but the hitch held strong and the bolts were still in place.
