The Yakima BaseLine FX system keeps everything looking tidy and intentional. The flush design means there’s no awkward bar overhang—just a clean, streamlined look that blends right in. It installs on your naked roof and gives that factory-style appearance while still giving you the full function of a true roof rack system.
Wind noise can be one of the biggest annoyances when you add bars to your roof. These aero-style crossbars are shaped to help reduce drag and noise as you drive. The push-down rubber strips in the top channels also cut vibration and keep things quieter, so you can enjoy the trip instead of listening to whistling from above.
Whether you’re heading out with bikes, kayaks, skis, or a cargo box, this rack is ready. The bars work with both channel-mount and clamp-on attachments, giving you the flexibility to use whatever gear setup you prefer. You can switch from summer water gear to winter snow gear just by swapping out attachments—no special tools or replacements needed.
When it’s time to load up heavy camping gear or watercraft, you want bars you can count on. These are made from aluminum for strength without unnecessary weight, rated for up to 165 lbs (always check your vehicle’s roof capacity). The integrated crossbar and tower design keeps things solid under load while maintaining a low profile that looks just right.
For those times you want extra peace of mind, the system is compatible with Yakima Same Key System (SKS) lock cores (sold separately). Once added, they help guard both the rack and your channel-mount accessories from theft when your vehicle is parked at a trailhead or campsite.

2-years into owning my system: I have had the rack on the vehicle for 2-years and never removed it. Every 3-4 months i check the performance of the base clips and they have never come lose. I think best practice is to always check the stability of the rack however i have never had a problem and the system has always stayed tight and firm. Its been a great system for the vehicle.

Eric, Thank you for reaching out. I contacted Yakima about the fitment. Based on the picture that you provided the clip is installed correctly. I recommend taking a look at the M fitments from the installation manual. For this vehicle M1 is going to be 38.62 inches refers to the front crossbar: inner edge of drivers side tower to inner edge of the passengers side tow. M2 is 9 inches which refers the front cross bar: this is the measurement from the corner of the painted roof right above the windshield - to the leading edge of the front tower. M3 37.75 inches which refers to the inner edge of the drivers side tower to the inner edge of passengers side tower. M4 is 32 inches which refers to the distance between the leading edge of the front cross bar to the leading edge of the rear cross bar. If the measurement is off it can affect how the clips sit.
