Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Gen Y hitch aluminum skid plate for two-inch hitches. Now this skid plate will protect your hitch in the rear of your vehicle from any rocks and debris when you're off-roading. You can see right here this solid shank is what'll mount into your two inch by two inch trailer hitch receiver. And just to show you what we're talking about, I have a picture there of this installed on one of the hitches on a vehicle, and you can see how this just inserts. Now it does require a pin and a clip to secure it to your hitch.
That is not included. You would have to supply that, or you can even use a hitch lock for extra security so nobody tries to take off with this. Both those items, depending the clip and the hitch lock, we do sell separately on our website. Now once this is installed, you can also see that it could be used as a hitch step to reach something into the back of the vehicle. It is made of a durable, clear coated aluminum.
It is made in the USA, and it is very lightweight since it is aluminum. And last thing, just give you a few dimensions on this. If we do the width of it, one side to the other, 10 and a quarter inches. I'm sorry, 14 and a quarter inches wide. The total depth of this, and when it does have an angle to it, so we're gonna measure from here to here, so you can see is right at 10 inches deep.
And the overall height, the very top, is right at about four inches tall. But that should do it for a look at this Gen Y hitch aluminum skid plate for two-inch hitches.
