When your fifth wheel's unhitched, your truck still has work to do. This cushioned 5th wheel to gooseneck pin box cuts down on chucking and frees up your bed when the trailer's parked so you can haul what you need, when you want.
When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.
If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.
Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 0 to 11,500 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 11,500 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 11,500 trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 0 to 11,500 lbs range.
With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at this MORryde GooseTech fifth wheel to gooseneck pin box. Now, when your fifth wheel isn't hooked up, your truck does not have to sit idle. It can still get things done. This cushioned fifth wheel to gooseneck pin box is going to let you switch from towing to hauling with ease. By replacing your Lippert Rhino fifth wheel pin box, this is going to connect straight to your 2-5/16-inch gooseneck ball.
So, you're gonna be able to forget about that bulky fifth wheel hitch that takes up so much space in the bed of your truck. And once your trailer is parked, you're gonna be able to carry whatever else you need, because you're not gonna have that unused fifth wheel hitch taking up all that space in the bed of your truck. Now when you use this, you're also going to notice a smoother ride as well, because this has an internal rubber shear spring that's going to help absorb those bumps and road shock. And so that's going to help cut down on that annoying chucking feeling that often comes from towing. Now this is built tough.
Of course, you've got (metal clanging) a durable steel construction with a really great durable (metal clanging) powder coat finish on here that I think is gonna hold up really well for you. And this is going to be ideal for fifth wheels that are under 11,500 pounds gross towing weight. Now we do have other ranges available of this unit. So, if you're looking for something at a higher rate, do take a look at the other options that we have here from MORryde on this pin box. So, this is gonna be a pretty straightforward installation with the included hardware that you see here.
However, I do wanna point out that this is heavy. This weighs about 175 pounds. I needed two other people to help me safely get it on my table. So, I tell you that because I do wanna make sure that you do have enough support when you lift this into place when you're installing this, just because it's a very robust, quality product. So, it's gonna be reflected in the weight of this unit.
So, just make sure you do have enough support. Hookups are gonna be simple. Let me give you a view here of the coupler here, a little bit lower, different angle here. Just so you can see. This coupler is going to latch automatically. This actually has a Demco EZ Latch coupler, which is great. So, you're not gonna need that coupler open to connect to your ball. You can keep that latch closed, and then it's just gonna automatically and secure securely connect to your ball. And then when you're ready to disconnect, you're just going to open up the latch there and then lift up the pin box, and you're gonna be good to go. I did wanna point out as well that you don't have to climb into the bed of your truck to disconnect, because this does feature, or does include rather, this remote release handle. So, from the outside of bed of your truck, you'll just use the hook and you'll pull on that latch to open it up, and you'll be able to disconnect. You probably also noticed the crosses here. We have one on either side. Those are for your safety chains. And if you don't have safety chains, I do have a recommendation there for you. You can just take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that chain, and you can add that to your order. Now, one final thing I wanted to mention, if you're not sure which pin box you actually have, there are a couple ways in which you can figure that out. A little bit lower on this product page, we do have a link to an article that we put together for you entitled "4 Steps to Choosing Your 5th-Wheel Pin Box." So, you can take a look at that, and that's gonna walk you through the ways in which you can find out which pin box that you have, if it's not clearly labeled. If you do happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this, or if you need further guidance on finding out which pin box you have, don't hesitate to reach out, because ultimately, we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.
