Features to know about

Switch to a Gooseneck and Get Your Truck Bed Back

When you're not towing your fifth wheel, you still need your truck bed open for everyday use. With this direct replacement pin box, you can hitch your trailer to a gooseneck ball and clear out the bulky fifth-wheel hitch that eats up space. Load your tools, haul lumber, or stow your weekend gear without worrying about having enough bed space. It's designed to keep your fifth wheels ride height and weight balance just right, and it installs with the included hardware. At about 175 lbs, it's a two-person lift, so grab a buddy or a hoist to make the job easier.

Built for Smoother, More Relaxed Towing

If you've had it with an air-bag pin box that seems to lose pressure or need topping off, this gooseneck pin box gives you the same comfort without the upkeep. The GooseTech cushioned pin box uses a heavy-duty rubber shear spring to absorb vertical and fore-and-aft movement, softening the jolt from bumps, dips, and bridge seams. You'll feel less chucking up front and experience a more relaxed ride on long hauls.

Optimized for Your Trailer's Weight

Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 0 to 11,500 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000 lbs trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 11,500 lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 11,500 trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000 lbs trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 0 to 11,500 lbs range.

Ready for an Easier Way to Hook Up and Disconnect?

With GooseTech, hooking up happens fast. As you lower your trailer onto the gooseneck ball, the spring-loaded coupler clicks into place and locks down tight, so you don't have to latch it by hand or wonder if it's secure. Once you're connected, climb in to attach your safety chains (sold separately) for that extra peace of mind before you head out. When it's time to unhook, reach into your truck bed with the included remote handle to pull the release handle. And when you're parked for the night, use the built-in lock hole to secure your trailer and sleep easy.

After years of trying different hitch setups, the MoRyde GooseTech has become my favorite towing system yet. We’ve towed over 1,200 miles with it, and it’s been smooth, quiet, and completely maintenance-free , no airbags to refill, no grease fittings to mess with, and a super simple hookup process. Plus, when I unhook, I get my entire truck bed back. It feels like MorRyde took everything I loved about their rubber pin box and made it even better. I couldn’t be happier with how it tows.

  • Recommended Lock for MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box
Hey Jeff! The MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR97MV comes with a Demco eZ-Latch. The best option for a lock is the InfiniteRule Lock for Cast Demco eZ-Latch Trailer Couplers # IR66FR. This is designed to for a standard coupler but fits the GooseTech as well. Are you replacing a 1621 on your 5th wheel?

  • Does MORryde GooseTech Have Vertical Movement
Hi Bruce; the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR97MV doesn't have any real vertical movement. However, the rubber spring will still absorb and dampen road shock at the connection point within the pin box. The rubber sheer spring has 3" of fore/aft travel because that is the direction chucking occurs. This is caused be the acceleration and deceleration of your truck. Do you have a Lippert 1621 bolt patter? The # MR97MV is designed to fit a 1621 on trailers between 14,000...

  • Does Curt Helux or MORryde Goosetech Have Better Ride Quality
Hey Clarendon, you're on the right track. You’re not wrong in how you’re thinking about this. You’re coming off a Flex Air, which is about as good as it gets for ride quality, especially paired with a B&W Companion. That rotating head plus the air spring is doing a lot of work, soaking up the vertical hits and taking the edge off the fore-and-aft shove. So, the real question isn’t “are these gooseneck options good,” it’s “what am I giving up to get my bed back?” The Curt Helux is going...

  • Does MORryde GooseTech have More or Less Drop Than Other Pin Boxes
Hey Jack, all of the fifth wheel pin box to gooseneck adapters like the MORryde Goosetech part # MR64MV all have right at the same dimensions from the gooseneck coupler to where it attaches to the trailer. There isn't one that offers more or less drop than the other. The height is adjustable still though by using different mounting holes on the trailer frame. You can mount the Goosetech up higher in the brackets to to have a lower overall height or the opposite for more height. The part...

  • What Size Safety Chains Fit MORryde GooseTech
Hey Terry! Safety chains like the Gen-Y # GY49GR you looked at will work with the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # MR99MV. The safety chain slot can handle 3/8" or 5/16" so either size will fit. MORryde actually came out with their own safety chains # MR23MV, so I recommend picking those up over other options. These are 3/8" as well and specifically designed for the GooseTech. Do you have a Lippert 1716 bolt pattern on your 5th wheel? The GooseTech is bolt pattern...

  • Recommended Pin Box for a Trailer w/a Rhino-Box That Weighs Less than 10,000 lbs
Hey Ron. For a 5th wheel trailer that has a Rhino-Box pin box that weighs less than 10,000 lbs you'll want the MORryde GooseTech 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Rhino item # MR64MV. This one is designed to work with trailer's that weigh less than 11,500 lbs. This pin box will work with your 5th wheel trailer so long as you're replacing a Lippert or Curt Rhino-Box. You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks item # GY49GR. Safety chains are required for gooseneck connections...

  • Which MORryde Goosetec Fits Alliance Avenue ML23
Hey George, I looked up your Alliance Avenue ML23 and what I found was that it uses the Lippert Rhino Box so based on that and the GVWR you have the correct MORryde Goosetch would be the part # MR64MV. If you were wanting to stick with a fifth wheel hitch setup the Pullrite SuperGlide part # PUL83RR would be a great option. It would slide far enough to allow you to make a 90 degree turn with your 2026 GMC Sierra 2500. On the newer GM trucks they actually moved the rail kits a little further...

  • What MORryde GooseTech Should I Get for My Toy Hauler that is Fully Loaded 16k?
Hello Dallas, Thanks for writing in, that’s a great question. The 14K to 18K GooseTech like the # MR84MV is the right choice for your setup because it matches how your toy hauler actually runs when it’s loaded, not just empty. With a 28DK5, it’s very easy to get up into that mid to upper weight range once you add water, gear, and toys, so you want the rubber system working right in that sweet spot. That’s what gives you a controlled, cushioned ride and really helps reduce chucking instead...
