Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I've used the front receiver many times. It fit perfectly, and i like the unique look it gives the truck. It allows me to put a bike rack up front while pulling a trailer.

Install looks great, Jeff! What are you going to be using your new front hitch for?

by:

The shipper tour, the packaging. The hardware was lost. An Era immediately replaced it with no hassle and express order. Great job.

It’s literally as good as new. Makes launching my boat in low water much easier

Installation went well except for the “straps” under the receiver; there were no holes for the support. I will drill holes and install bolts later.

2013 Toyota Tacoma

Bolted in place just fine on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4x4. The original skid plate went back on with no problem. I installed it to maneuver a camping trailer into a tight space. Looks good! I’m going to look into a receiver mounted winch for the future.

2007 Toyota Tacoma

Sturdy, high quality hitch that fits vehicle perfectly. Only complaints are that the box the hitch was shipped in was damaged at time of delivery and labels/ decals on hitch were installed/ affixed upside down.

by:
2017 Toyota Tacoma

Product was as advertised, Excellent. It was delivered without all the proper hardware. I was missing 4 lock washers and 10 nuts, luckily I have a good store close. I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. Install of the drivers side bracket was easy. Passenger side bracket rear bolt was tricky due to brake lines but a little bend did the trick. Hole alignment was spot on.......don't tighten anything until fully mounted.....and then do it in the order in which the directions state. It did take me longer then anticipated but it was well worth the wait, I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!! Now to make adjustments to the surf fishing rack.

by:
2023 Toyota Tacoma

The hitch arrived in a broken and taped up box and sections of the hitch were scraped to bare steel and slightly bent. My mechanic was able to bend back and install it. I am concerned about the bare steel rusting quicker now!

Hey Lou. I included a link for some rust prevention tips. Any of the laser cut edges will be very prone to chips and scratches since the metal is so smooth there, the powder coat sometimes has a hard time gripping on. I recommend checking those areas at least once a year.

2016 Toyota Tacoma

This was fairly simple to install, once I figured out what in the world I was doing. The instructions are great, if you already know the names of the parts they're referring to. I'm not mechanically inclined and it took me approx 2 hrs to install. Thankfully I still have a 75ftlb torque wrench.
My only beef is that for a 2016 Tacoma (TRD Sport), the lower air dam needs remove for installation, and it doesn't get reinstalled.
Other than that, installation's a breeze, and this sucker is heavy duty. If I ever need any parts like this, or anything related to automotive or trailer stuff, I'm coming to this website FIRST.

by:

Just arrived today and couldn’t wait to install it on my 2007 Tacoma. Within the hour of the UPS man handing me the box I was grabbing tools and loosening the nuts on the skid plate shroud (4 12mm bolts) and the “strap box” thing held on by a 17mm bolt and I’m ready to install. The two mounting plates went on easily, next the middle hitch and the lower bolts that secure to where the “strap box” once was and That was it!! Any knuckle dragger could install this hitch with ease. I bought this hitch so I could haul my motorcycle in front while pulling my trailer. Love it!!

2016 Toyota Tacoma

The hitch is nice and looks good. For you "Real Off roaders" look at one of the $500 versions that put it above the bumper. It dose affect your approach angle. but I wanted it to mount a cooler on the front when towing our camper. Going to work out fine. Like many others have said it was missing hardware. 10 bolts and 4 lock washers to be exact. The bag was intact with no rips. Guess it's my own fault but I didn't realize it till I was most of the way done with installation. Called and they got new parts on the way but said that it would be 5 to 7 days. One trip to Lowe's and got it installed 30 minutes later. $3.50 to get it installed that day was worth it. Fast delivery to. And they were on it to make sure all was good. Thank you just hire some one who can count to put hardware together. Lol

2010 Toyota Tacoma

Overall everything went well. The box arrived with a few holes in it, but the hitch and all bolts were there and just a couple of minor scratches. Installation was pretty much straight forward, a little more difficult on the ground as opposed to doing it from a lift but that is generally accepted by do it yourselfers. Tool list is more extensive if you torque the bolts properly, for instance you will need a crows foot that fits your torque wrench as you can’t get a socket on a couple of the bolts. I’m a tool crazy person so that is no problem for me! I preferred the Draw-tire brand as I could put the rock and gravel Shield back on my 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Looks good fits great and etrailer.com did a great job of delivering the product at a good price. Thanks etailer.com!

2018 Toyota Tacoma

The hitch fits perfectly for my 2018 Tacoma. Had to trim some stuff as stated in directions.
The problem I had was I didn’t check hardware and make sure it was all there before taking apart my truck.
So I ended up buying nuts and lock washers at the local Home Depot.
Worked like a charm and from there out everything went smoothly
It did take longer then 35 minuets but I was installing it on the ground so it took about 2 hrs with a friend.
Would recommend this to anyone looking to put a hitch on.

by:
2016 Toyota Tacoma

This is a wonderful product and has made trailer positioning a snap. I can now maneuver my boat / utility trailer up a very narrow drive without going into the yard. The only downside was the unit did not come with all the hardware to install. etrailer sent me the missing hardware very quickly. Be prepared to make cuts to the air dam if so equipped. A torque wrench is required to install along with socket and open end wrenches.

2015 Toyota Tacoma

Excellent hitch. Looks great on my truck. Easy to install. Fits perfect. Great price.
Needed to be able to have more maneuverability in getting my boat into my backyard. This front hitch does the trick.

What a great product. As with anything that I order I always look at the welds and Howard has put together to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong. This product was built incredibly well! I did get all the bolts out ahead of time and all the hardware was there. Putting this product on was very easy I timed it and it only took 45 minutes with hand tools.I like the fact that on the draw tite you can continue to use your front skid plate. Now that I have Brad enough about the product and installation let’s talk about the customer service. The customer service was as good or better than the product. I talked to Kyle and within 10 minutes I had my product on order. He also told me that they guaranteed the best price. I did find one while I was at work yesterday for $20 cheaper but for the quality of the customer service I would feel embarrassed calling for $20 back for how they treated me. Definitely get one of these if you have a Tacoma. And did I mention that it arrived at the house less than 48 hours after I ordered it!

Installation on 2005 Tacoma when well with no issues. Box was missing a few parts (nuts & washers) due to a damaged box but etrailer took care of that.

by:

Its a very well built hitch. Easy to install it took me 45 minutes and I’m no professional. Only reason I’m not going to give it to 5 stars is the included hardware was not all there. Not a big deal a quick trip to the hardware store and a couple extra bucks.

My product arrived on Thursday, delivered by UPS. The package was damaged with 2 large holes or wide tears in the box. The UPS driver watched as I opened the box and both he and I were relieved that there was no damage to the product. I have not had the opportunity as yet to install it but am watching the video. Thank you.

I installed this hitch on my Tacoma as a recovery item when driving very narrow mountain roads. That is, as an attachment point for me to be towed out, or as an attachment to pull others backwards out of a jam. As luck would have it, I have yet to use it for this purpose. It bolted on straight out of the box, and is solid & secure. I get a lot of comments on its purpose and got a lot of people thinking how useful it could be. I consider it to be a very good purchase. (Hopefully not needing it any time soon!)
