With a dual-pivoting head that offers 10 degrees of lateral movement, the E16 fifth-wheel hitch makes hookup a snap, even on unlevel ground. Once the king pin slides into the hitch, the auto-locking, slide-bar jaw secures it in place. A unique feature of the E16 is the rear steel tension bar within the jaw that activates upon hookup to clamp down on the king pin, providing a tighter grip that maximizes security and minimizes rattle.

Rails and installation kit sold separately.The hitch looks great as shipped from etrailer. The problem was UPS destroyed the package and hitch. I have just started the claims process through UPS. I have always had great success with everything coming from etrailer until now. It was obvious the box had been dropped numerous times. It had been retapped a few times trying to hold it together. The steel crossmember was bent in two directions. It cannot be used which makes this hitch worthless. I see no fault with etrailer (except I recommend putting the cardboard package inside a heavier box to help UPS prevent damage). This package is around ninety pounds shipping in a thin cardboard box. I will be ordering a new hitch from etrailer and hoping for a better shipping experience. I have to postpone my vacation due to not having a working hitch.
Jenny N - 04/04/2022E-trailer made the order process very easy, and the shipping was much faster than I expected. The boxes arrived in fairly good condition, but the hitch arms were scratched up due to poor internal packaging. Since the hitch was packed in an E-Trailer box, I assume they repackaged this product. Otherwise, the Curt hitch and custom rails seem to be very good products for the money!
Alvin S - 09/21/2021Well packed, free 5 days shipping, easy to assemble and nice looking hitch. Im extra amazed because i can remove the king pin base/head from the bridge leg assembly to easily transport them. Still not tested with the coach. Practically no lateral movement and have the suspicion bushings. Very firm and easy mechanisms. Do not leave the gate open for long term because could damage the main spring. I plan to pull a 11k 334FWFLS. Nothing compared to this hitch in this price range. I will add some extra feedback after couple travels.

The hitch was damaged in shipping. They replaced it quickly. Their customer service was a pleasant surprise. They also have excellent installation videos. I recommend etrailer for their prices and customer service.
Great entry level fifth wheel, I don’t use it on a daily basis but have used it enough to say it is a great entry level fifth wheel, it does have some slack because it is a slide-bar hitch, but other than that it works great with no problems.
It is just what I wanted, coming from the world of big trucks, I wanted a hitch that auto snaps closed, it does just that, it mounted right in my old Reese plate system on 22” center, so far I am very happy not only with the hitch, but also the price and the customer service from E trailer, thanks for the support . Chris - 05/17/2021The hitch arrived very fast, and was boxed well. It doesn't come assembled in order to reduce the shipping size, but it's super easy to assemble. Just four 1/2" bolts attach the legs to the main crossmember, and one small 3/16" bolt attaches the lever release arm. In all, it only took about 15 minutes to assemble and set in the truck. It even comes with the hitch pins needed to install on your rails. The only thing you'll need that's not included is about 4 to 8, 1/2" washers. Very happy with the hitch, and always look to etrailer.com for my replacement hauling/trailer parts!
Haven't had a chance to use the hitch yet but I got it installed without too much trouble. It took about 4 hours to install, the frame mounting brackets and rails, at a leisurely pace. The unit seems to be very sturdy and it is certainly built heavy. I'm looking forward to testing it out soon.
I bought the curt fifth wheel and base to convert my B&W turnover ball and this thing fits perfectly it went together smoothly and in under an hour easily highly reccomend
This hitch was very easy to put on. We use it to pull our camper several times last summer. We have not had any problems hooking or unhooking from the hitch. Looking forward to another season camping. Thanks etrailer

Pat R - 04/24/2018Product made it with no missing parts. etrailer "pallet wrapped" the 93 lb. 5th wheel hitch. Outer box still sustained damage, but maintained the inner box. etrailer succeeded where two other venders failed to deliver intact packages. etrailer has a new, repeating customer.
James D - 07/11/2019The Product was nice and worth the money, the packaging for shipping was really poor. The shipping was very fast but when we received it, one part was damaged with dents and scratches. We are very unsatisfied with that. We paid 400 for a hitch that is damaged and will rust. The parts in the hitch box were not wrapped for protection. Also, instead of putting it in a box that fit, they staples a million staples to make a box around the factory box. It was very unprofessional. Pretty upset for the money we spent.
First the bolts were a little short. But they quickly sent longer ones. Slightly tight fitting in bed rails. Used it once got more tight. After the second time had to use two by four to pop it out.. After a couple more tines of use it won’t budge at all. I think the hitch is spreading out. Wouldn’t have taken much to beef it up with some kid of support going across near the bottom. Not as much side to side tip of the 5th wheel plate as advertised. Get much more than 1 1/2” you have to put block under the truck wheels to get unhooked. A little forward and backward movement of 5th wheel pin but not bad. Other wise it works good.
Wonderful Product. Installed easily in only 2.5 hours! Love it! The product is Great, however the service at etrailer.com is AMAZING! Terrific experience, incredibly fast shipping and a really competitive price! If I need it, and etrailer.com sells it, I'll buy it from them!!!!
Sean O - 03/05/2018Was an easy install considering the age of our truck, 94 f250 diesel. Pulls very nice. Our 1st 5th wheel and where we will begin our retirement journey.
I was very happy with my new hitch. Being the first one I owned I wasn’t really sure what to expect but my Son and myself installed it in about 3.5 hours and saved about $800 in installation costs. The hardest part was drilling holes in my truck. (I really like my truck) Anyways, the hitch exceeded my expectation in quality and workmanship and would highly recommend as well as etrailer.
product was excellent. shipping packageing could have been better. product was too heavy for the packaging, which resulted in perforations in the box and led me to believe there was damage or missing parts. all parts were there and not damage, but I felt bad for the shipping co. who had to re tape up 50% of the box. the same was the situation with the goose neck to 5th. wheel conversion part that I received from you 3 weeks prior. but all was well there also.
A good product that is easy to use. The only problem I have found is the release handle is sticky and I have to shake it to pull it out. I am going to try some silicone on it and see if it helps.

I added extra grease sliding bar and will hook up to fifth wheel in couple days! This is second order from E trailer for me and both were 5 star! I will be making more purchases from Etrailer! Very quality unit. Only had trouble with handle mounting as the tube was turned 180 degrees and I put handle on as instructions said and it was not lined up with grooves to pull hitch lock out. Took top back off and seen this so removed handle and put on in up position instead of down and was able to pull to line up grooves with slots and release hitch lock and lock it in down as it should be. Works real good and sets secure in rails and in hitch top. Real good fit with no rattles going down road when nothing is hitched.
Dan - 08/28/2016I received my 16k 5th wheel mount in 2days as promised, the packaging was extremely well done and everything arrived in tact. Assembly took about 20 minutes about the same amount of time as it took to read the instruction manual. Assembly is simple and you don't need a lot of mechanical skill to assemble it. But you do need a torque wrench to do it by the book. I wasn't sure if the mount to rail pins came with the assembly but they do. I am very pleased with this purchase and I will look to etailer for any future trailer needs.
