Can I Replace a Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch w/a Curt E16?

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/03/2025

Question:

Hello I have an older Valley 7054 16K hitch. It is worn out and I would like to replace it with a Curt 16611. Can I use my existing rails? What are the dimensions distances of the mounting tabs that sit inside the rails? Abd are the tabs the same length, width and depth? Thank You RJ

You sure can! The Valley 7054 5th wheel hitch attaches to industry standard rails just like the Curt E16 item # C16115.

Industry standard 5th wheel rails measure 22" from center to center of the rails. I have linked a diagram below so you can compare yours. Don't worry about the Reese logo in the middle. The Curt E16 item # C16115 will fit yours if they're industry standard and not a Reese model.

If you come up with some different measurements feel free to email me directly or comment below your truck's year/make/model and bed length so we can find you a set that will work with the Curt E16 item # C16115.

Hey RJ, how did things go with the Curt E16 hitch and your existing rails? Were the measurements you took close to the industry standard spacing? Your update could make it easier for others replacing older Valley hitches.
