Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

This was an easy product to install. It was so easy that even a woman can do it. LOL I had it completely installed before my husband got home from work. Of course he had to double check my work, but it works great. I would recommend this product to everyone....

by:

I purchased this product about two years ago and it died on me in less than a year. Not a high quality product IMO.

It is easy to forget, but check the fuse in the fuse holder up by the battery. It could be a simple blown fuse. Also check the ground wire. If the ground wire connection has become corroded, the harness may cease to function.

by:

Trailer harness connector harnI purchased this harness assembly approximately 2 1/2 years ago and it has failed. I am purchasing this one to replace the failed unit, but I did not purchase the original one from this merchant. I believe this merchant has a better product line

by:

Easy hook-up and great video to assist, thank you! Wish it wasn't quite so costly, but otherwise we are happy with this product. We will look to you guys if we need trailer accessories in the future.

Thank you

Great product. Of course I just installed it so I can't say how it will hold up over time but it works as expected.

After watching the install video on youtube it was a piece of cake to install.

2009 Dodge Durango

2009 dodge durangoThis kit is well constructed and very easy to install. I had a wiring mechanic install it for me and he was very impressed with everything. He said it is the easiest to install that even I could of done it with no problem. I will recommended this kit to my friends and I already have.

by:
2007 Dodge Durango

The wiring harness was very easy to install. The installation video was spot on and the whole process was seamless and quick. One of the best companies I have dealt with in a while. Keep up the great work!

by:

Easy to follow directions and video on etrailer website. Only difficult part was running hot wire to the front to the battery, but that is my fault as I chose to route the wire through the frame. All the parts were enclosed and it works perfectly. Ordering and shipment was easy and fast. Thanks Lexus!!

by:

Great trailer wiring connectorThe video was a great help. All of the required components were provided. I returned a different brand and glad I found this one. Be aware that the plastic plugs are two piece. I pulled the whole thing out and ruined them and had to buy replacements. I connected to the fuse box and its the way to go.

by:

I got the right products, easy to install, and fast delivery. I followed the video install instructions. I loved being able to track it. Look forward to ordering from your business again! Gerardo

2nd Time Doing Business WithI have purchased a tow package and wiring harness from etrailer and they have been great to deal with. I really appreciate the tutorial vidoes.

2004 Dodge Durango

the easiest trailer wire hookup i've ever done. this connector is super fast and easy. shipping time was fair, about 5 days to NY. the video offered on line was great

by:

Good product for the moneyExcellent option for those who want a 7-wire connector but are unable to find one. Dealer wanted $180 for this part. This adapter combined with the T-connector harness saved me over $100.
Note: Requires separate ground (white wire). Does not use the ground from the 4-flat wiring harness it taps into. This is detailed in the instructions.

by:

Installation is very easy - only challenge was properly routing the 12v wire from battery to the rear of the vehicle. Not difficult, just time consuming and requires some thought to be sure it is not close to hot components, has enough slack to account for suspension travel, and is wire-tied often enough so it won't get snagged on brush when offroading. Instructions are well written.

Excellent plug in wiring. My vehicle didn't come with the factory wiring harness so I started with this kit. It was a very simple installation if you are at all familiar with vehicle wiring. All the parts were included. Connecting to the factory tail lights was very simple as no splicing was needed at all. A big relief. This kit also includes an isolator which keeps trailer shorts from damaging expensive vehicle electronics. I added the 4-7 wire adapter to this kit to be able to use a trailer brake controller in my vehicle. Excellent service from etrailer.

  • Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with Brakes Using a 2006 Dodge Durango
I was not able to locate an exact towing capacity for your 2006 Dodge Durango online but I do have a way for you to determine this. What you are going to want to do is open the driver door and look for a white info tag which will display both the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and the gross combined weight rating (GCWR). If you take the GVWR and subtract that from the GCWR that will then give you your maximum towing capacity. Assuming the gross trailer weight (GTW) is within the maximum...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2005 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7L without Factory Tow Package
It does not sound like your 2005 Dodge Durango has a factory tow package if you cannot find the plugs for the harness. But to be sure you can always have a Dodge dealer run the VIN through their system to see how the vehicle is equipped. Without the factory tow package you would use wiring harness # 118390. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view and a video showing a typical installation. This harness does connect in line with the tail light wiring. You...

Curt trailer wiring harness # C55381 will only fit your 2007 Dodge Durango if it came with the factory tow package. For a model without the factory tow package I recommend Tow Ready wiring harness # 118390. I have included a link to a video showing how it installs as well as a link to the installation instructions for you.

  • How to Install a 7-Way on a 2007 Chrysler Aspen

This is a plug and play option designed to fit your vehicle. Check out the install video for more info. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way.
