Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle. This T-One typically plugs directly into the back of your factory-installed 7-way connector so you can retain the 7-way and also pull a trailer that has a 4-pole flat.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Retains functionality of factory-installed 7-way, RV-style connector (if present)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points behind rear bumper
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper. If you have a factory-installed 7-way, blade-style connector, the T-One will plug in between the 7-way and the OEM socket.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. That's part number 118384.Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. It is going to provide us with a four-pole flat trailer connector so we have all the required lights to get down the road safely, like our taillights, turn signals, and our brake lights. The nice thing about our wiring is that we're not going to have to cut or splice into our factory wiring at all. It's going to have a simple T-connector that's going to plug in behind the bumper. If you have the factory seven-way, we're still going to be able to retain that function while adding another four-pole connector so we can hook up to multiple trailers. Our wiring is going to have loom protecting our wires and also help hide some of those colors while it's on the back of the truck.

It is going to have an included dust cup, will keep all the dirt and grime out of the connector. We can also use it to hang it off our safety chain loop.To begin our installation, we're going to come to the back of our Silverado, and right here at the bumper we're either going to have a seven-way plug or just this dummy plug that we're going to come right behind it underneath the bumper. Now on the back we'll have our wiring and we'll have this gray keeper tab. We're going to want to pull that out and hold onto it, but then we'll find the black tab underneath. We'll press it and we can pull our wiring out.

Then we can grab our new harness. Going to put a little bit of dielectric grease inside the connector. Hopefully that'll prevent any kind of corrosion from building up and moisture from getting trapped inside. We'll fill up the cavity. Then we'll plug it into the plug that we removed.

Then we'll take that keeper tab and we can put it back in place. We'll make sure it doesn't come undone. Then we take the other end of our connector and we're going to plug it back into the plug we removed it from. Make sure it locks in. Then we'll route our four-pole over the hitch so it'll by the receiver tube.I'm going to use my dust cover as a keeper to hold my four-pole up a little bit so I can see how much slack I'm going to need to tie up.

Then we just take some of the included zip ties and tie it to the hitch behind there.I went ahead and plugged in my four-pole tester so I can make sure that all the circuits are working properly. If you need one of these, you can pick one up here at etrailer.com using part number I26. We can see that my taillight function is working properly as well as the left turn signal and the right turn signal and my brakes. All we have left to do now is hook up to our trailer and hit the road. That'll finish up your look at the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118384, on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

unable to locate factory wiring to connect this harness to. sent a search party who said it was located inside of a frame member. still searching...there are NO wires showing under the vehicle and i have not started to pull apart the interior in a search as the weather is uncooperative. i do like the fact that the 4 wire in enclosed in a loom for protection. my last vehicle did not have that feature. it is thoughtful. 462005

Just did this install on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee everything is just like the video. But the only thing that worked was tail lights. No turn or brake lights. I could not find any fuse or relays bad or missing. Did I miss something?

Part # 118384 is designed for Grand Cherokees with a factory tow package. Without the factory tow package, not all functions will work. In order to make it function, youll need to head to your dealer and have them re-flash either the Body Control Module BCM or Power Control Module PCM to fully activate that port. The other option is to use a harness designed for Grand Cherokees that dont have factory tow packages like part # 118425.

  • Brake Controller Fuse Location in 2011 Dodge Ram 1500
The fuse location for an electric brake controller in a 2011 Ram 1500 is position J02 and it takes a 30-amp fuse. This is shown in the manual on page 564. The part you referenced, T-One 4-Pole Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118384, is a basic wiring harness that carries only lighting signals but not brake power for a trailer. For a 7-way wiring set-up for your 2011 Ram 1500 that includes a trailer brake power circuit you can use kit # 74682. This plugs in to the factory wiring connector. If...

  • Connecting 3rd Brake Light in Leer Cap to 2019 Ram 1500
Actually, the correct part to wire in a truck bed cap's third brake light is the converter # PP20-702. Since your 2019 Ram's turn signals and brake lights run on one circuit this separates them so the light on the cap functions with just the brake lights. Each yellow wire connects to the truck's brake light/turn signal circuits, one on each side, and then the green wire goes to the third brake light. You can use the truck's trailer wiring to find the proper brake and turn signal circuits....
