Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connection secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

The menu does not force "sub model" selection, which is very important. This particular Ford Edge 2019-2024 has different connectors on the taillights for the Se-Sel than on the Titanium and ST. I got the wrong one for my Edge Titanium. Also the wire to the front of the car is Very Difficult to get into the engine compartment. This is lightly brushed over.

From Order to Delivery each step was Documented as to Who took the Order, Who picked it, who packaged it, and the Tracking was spot on.
The Box arrived with some torn edges and holes in it, I would assume made by the Shipper, but all the order was securely taped inside and everything was there.
Instructions indicate running a wire from the front of the car(battery) to the back. You have to take half the car apart to do that. I'm not doing that, it's a brand new car. I'm returning the wiring kit.

All the materials are high quality but the connector that plugs into the tail light connector on my 2023 Edge had a slightly different outline shape and it wouldn't slide on easily. I had to modify the connector on my car to get it to clip on. Everything is working OK but I thought you should know.
Part of the wire harness was plug and play, the rest was run a wire from the Battery to the rear of the car, and mount the ground wire. I love the plug and play wire Harness systems, like the Explorer has.
I am very happy with Etrailer. I bought a trailer hitch and Tee connecting wiring harness and I watch some YouTube videos and the job went smooth and I especially like their design. They came up with on how to fish the brackets and the bolts through the sub frame to attach the hitch, it took me approximately the same amount of time that they said it would. I am very, very happy and I highly recommend these products.

I will never purchase another item from a trailer
I looked up the item that I wanted they said it would fit my vehicle when I got it it was not the right one I called them wanted to send it back but then they wanted me to pay the shipping to return it which was $ and something
Then they talked me into exchange event and it still cost me extra because of a different part and I guaranteed it to be here on Monday UPS and not United postal service
Of course Monday came didn't show up I looked at it and it was sent by the post office which takes about 5 days to get it from Missouri to Michigan I finally got it today but I still have not got my return money for the first one I purchased they said it might take until the end of the week to get that is a bunch of bull crap very poor service I could have got the same thing over here at the (local trailer dealer) for $ less and I could have got it on the first day

Installation went well and it works good
everything came as ordered if I had any complaint it would be the wire connectors I feel they should be a heat shrink type. I replaced mine with heat shrink type connectors there for four stars instead of five.

I like the hitch and the bracket that I bought so the trailer light wire isnt just hanging it look nice and professional

I found the install to be easy per video. I installed a factory hitch and installed the curt T-Connector and on my 2022 Ford Edge. I unscrewed the fenders and pope them lose and was able to just slide the wiring to the rear tail light in proper place instead of fishing and get it stuck. The hot wire was a little challenge do to there was not really any good place to route to battery
