Installation was straightforward. I had a little (very little) interference with the locking mechanism I used a little file I used, to correct.
Even so, there is the slightest hang up in the handle that binds slightly.

Item arrived in a timely manner..I got it because I recently installed a bed cover and needed to lock my tailgate to secure my Cover... I had my mechanic to install it because it was difficult and my mechanic after some tweaking got it to working perfectly... It looks flimsy but is pretty sturdy..

Been working great so far. Just have to be careful to push the tailgate from the center so the latch completely closes. This is an issue I had before installtion.between the pop and lock and my hard plastic bed cover its like having a car with a lockable trunk.

Its been close to a year of having this on my truck and I feel safer having it on my 2001 ram. No much has changed from my initial review still like it, still functions as it should and have not had any issues with it.

I put this on my Dodge and it went on as easy as expected. It appears that it will at least keep honest people honest. I think it could be forced but someone would need a pry bar to do it.

Honestly, little disappointed with this constructed item. On my 09' Ranger, it wasn't a pop in and go. I had to make modifications to the gates back plate for the lock to somewhat work? If you pull hard on the handle, I can see this mechanism break. Not satisfied and I don't recommend in my opinion. Could be made much better.

The lock went on fine, but after a while I noticed it was harder than normal to open. The handle ended up breaking and since my tonneau cover latches from the inside, without being able to open the tailgate I wasn't able to get into the back of my truck at all for several days.

I won't disclose how I eventually got the tailgate open because I don't want to reveal how to break into one (for obvious reasons), but after I finally got the tailgate open I discovered the problem. On the tab that actually prevents the handle from being opened when it's locked, the screw was loose and was not moving the tab completely out of the way of the handle allowing it to open properly.

So when I reinstalled the lock with a new handle, I used blue Loctite on the screw to keep it from coming loose again. The screw on this lock should have had a lock washer or at least some sort of thread locker to prevent this from happening. Having to replace the tailgate handle because of a loose screw from the factory should have never happened. Not happy.

Since reinstalling the lock screw with blue Loctite it has been working fine. I hope the manufacturer will take measures to prevent this from happening to others. The lock itself does the job as intended.

I just installed the pop n lock on my 06 Ridgeline. Wish I did it sooner. Looks great and very functional. This solved a problem that Honda neglected to address in its Gen 1 model, which was locking the tailgate. The video made the install very simple and straightforward. I did not have the issue that many others had with reinstalling the top tailgate cover. I would recommend this product without hesitation.

Went in as described in the video, though it took me a bit longer.
A round file would be handy for smoothing the large hole you will drill.
When first installed, the mechanism was too stiff to allow turning the key smoothly. Had to remove the lock mechanism and very gently bend the small tab that was rubbing on existing hardware. That did the trick.

All in all, a pretty easy installation, even for someone who is not terribly mechanical
