Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the TruXedo TonneauMate toolbox. This is going to be an under-the-cover toolbox that gives you all that storage space and a bunch of different features, but also works through to different tonneau covers. We'll take a look at those features right here at etrailer. The first thing you wanna do though is to make sure that this toolbox will fit your truck as well as your tonneau covers. We have a different combination of clamps as well as fits for your different vehicles.
So if you use our fit guide here at etrailer, put your year make model at the top. That will guide you to the correct fit for you. Check out our product description to make sure it fits your tonneau cover. And with different types of clamps, this will also fit vehicles with different track systems. The toolbox is gonna be 55 inches long, 22 inches wide, and 15 inches tall.
With how this installs to your vehicle, you also have the option of installing it either to the front of your truck, the middle, or towards the tailgate. Now this will depend on which tonneau cover you have is paired with or what type of track system you have. We have ours installed towards the cab because we have this paired with a Deuce 2, which actually opens up by the cab. It's a really cool combination. Then, since this box can also shift side to side, we have this shifted towards the driver's side just to get easy access towards that locking latch.
The lock is gonna have this dust cover just to protect it from the elements. Once it's in the unlocked position though, it's simply a matter of twisting the latch and then the box opens. You are gonna have this strut just to help out with that lifting process and to make it a bit more of a stable experience. When you bring it back down, just remember to bring that latch back into the place and that will keep everything secure. As for what you're keeping secure, this will have a 200 pound weight capacity for all the gear you may wanna store inside.
This is a great example of how our neighbor here is using their toolbox. They have their ball mounts in there, they have their wrenches, their tools, all the things that they would need for maintaining their truck, as well as keeping their cargo safe. This is made of a high-density polyethylene, and that's gonna be great for keeping out the elements. There's gonna be 10 cubic feet of space. But another thing for this too is not only does it store your gear and cargo and tools, but some people even use this as a cooler. You can load it up with ice and put all of your food and drinks in there too. This is heat tested to up to 400 degrees. So even though it is designed to work with your TruXedo tonneau covers and stay covered, if you do wanna leave this outside open and expose the elements in your truck bed, that's gonna be totally fine too. This is gonna be secured by four brackets, and these will secure to your different rails with those brackets, and all the hardware is gonna be included. The only thing not included is gonna be the tools to tighten everything down. So I do recommend grabbing or making sure you have 1/2 inch socket wrench just to keep everything secure. (wrench cranking) So we currently have our toolbox installed to the underbody rails of the TruXedo Deuce 2 tonneau cover, but if you do not have that tonneau cover, that's fine. The toolbox includes its own underbody rails that you can install to your truck. And that's why this is great to be used with your TruXedo tonneau covers just because the installation design is very interchangeable. And those underbody rails, all they would need are different clamps for different trucks that already have tracks. So those clamps are all kitted together here at etrailer as a fit for your very specific truck. So again, please use your fit guides to make sure you get the correct one. While this is technically a universal toolbox, it gives you all those different options like moving back and forth side to side so that you can have a more custom fit on your truck. I think this is a great thing to look into if you're planning on getting a tonneau cover anyways just because this will provide a really good storage bin for your different cargo. Compared to other toolbox options that are usually made of aluminum or another type of metal, this thermoplastic tub as well as the polyethylene lid is a little bit different when it comes to the look and feel of a toolbox, but it does make a lot more sense because it is designed to be used with your tonneau cover. So I think it is gonna be a great pairing when used together. On its own, it is just gonna be a cargo box that is being able to be moved around. So I do recommend taking a look at our other options for your truck if you want something that's an even more custom fit. This really shines when used with other TruXedo products though. So hopefully this video helped you out with seeing how different measurements, as well as the adjustability might work for you. You can find this right here on our website. This was a look at the TruXedo TonneauMate truck bed toolbox at etrailer.com. My name's Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed the journey.

Lockable toolbox fits under your tonneau cover, mounts at the front, back or middle of the bed, and is elevated for full access to the truck bed floor. Clamp kit allows you to install the toolbox in your Toyota Tundra with a factory track system.I installed this box in conjunction with my Bak Revolver X4, on my 2015 Chevy Silverado. The box itself is good, I wish that both sides of the cover had a latch, it feels like the right side of the box is lifted higher than the locked side, I don't know if water can get in, it sits under my tonneau. It will work with the X4 cover, however, you need to mount the box brackets to the bracket that attaches to the bedrails first, otherwise you cannot fit the bracket in between the two rails, it sandwiches it. Took two guys about an hour and a half to get it set correctly. Not a deal breaker, but there were some cuss words. After it was aligned and tightened down, my tools fit in there just fine, and I was happy. With my truck, I can still slide a 6' A frame ladder under the box, however, I have to put it under feet first. Just a heads up for any weekend side-jobbers out there.
Overall the box worked well. My only issue is it takes up far too much of the bed and does not work well with covers that also have side brackets. The two bracket systems together put the box more to the middle of the bed.
Still holding up after a year. I have no complaints to mention.
