Theft Deterrent Recommendations for the Tailgate of a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:
I just had my 2001 Dodge 1500 Ram tailgate stolen this week. Not a good feeling.. I was thinking of buying the Bully Tailgate lock for removable tailgates on the replacement I purchased today. For added security I was also Looking at the pop and lock Code Pal 3300. My questions are as follows. 1. Does the Bully tailgate lock fit on my 2001 Dodge 1500 Ram? Code LH-090 2. If I purchase the PoP-and Lock Code Pal 3300 can I take it to a locksmith and have it install? I am not very good on fixing things. 3. Where would I Be able to find handle with lock and have it installed? Thanks for your help…….

I think your plan should make your new tailgate basically theft-proof. The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL3300 that you referenced is confirmed to fit the tailgate of your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and honestly any qualified mechanic should have no problem installing it. This will put a lock on your tailgate handle. To see what it would look like check out the picture I attached.
