Arrived in good condition. It was easy to assemble. Bigger than I expected.

by:

Excellent

by:

Great package, highly recommend!!

by:

Love it! Easy to set up and was using it within 30 mins!

by:

So far the carrier looks and functions great. Can't wait to take it on our winter trip to Texas. Should work out well.

by:

I have traveled with the product twice across the country. It worked great.

by:

We love it. Everything works great and as advertised. Thanks for a great product.

by:

Great product for the price, lets us have more space in the RV. Product works as intended.

by:

The top cage came packaged separately which isn’t a huge feel but it was a bit bent and banged up making it a little difficult to attach. I would have asked for a replacement but we were heading out on a trip and couldn’t wait.

by:

I liked the fact that I felt the items would be secure while I was traveling in my class B RV. But the cost was exorbitant in my opinion. A fellow traveler had created basically the same principle by using a large dog kennel on top of a regular trailer platform for less than $200. So the three stars is basically due to the cost issue. It was well-made and the staff were very kind and nice to deal with.

by:

We used it on two trips since purchasing it. On both trips is worked flawlessly. This was the best investment we have made for this type item. We looked at numerous units before choosing this one, but none came close to providing what this unit does (for the price).

Thanks for making our vacations less stressful.

POD is exactly as ordered and is perfect for its intended use.

by:

arrived on time. assembled the cage looks and fits good will take pictures next week

by:

Excellent service and fast delivery! Also, everything is in perfect condition which is always great when ordering on line!

by:

Just what I needed fast shipping I highly recommend

by:

Excellent product and easy to install. Very solid and holds a ton. Also bought the locking lid and cargo bag.

by:

The carrier is excellent. It is somewhat more lite-weight than I anticipated, but it has not sagged or become deformed in any fashion, so it obviously does what it was designed for. Regarding the bag; I have never been able to adequately waterproof it regardless of how much Scotch Guard I apply. With that said, I would still purchase it again because it is durable and does keep dust and dirt away from the items stored.

by:

Best cargo basket ever! The liner bag does not leak!
Have used several times. It’s easy for this “older” lady to get it on and off.

by:

Yes, I like the carrier. I would buy it again. the only little problem I had was around the corners it had some water seepage. I sprayed it good with some waterproof sealer it worked good after that.

by:

One of our best purchases for our car. Much easier to deal with than the car top carrier. Has helped make lots of extra space inside the car for long road trips. We've used this thing for over 10k miles already and it looks & works great. The bag help protect from rain, dust & dirt.

by:

Honestly it's a nice idea but the cage wire is so thin I could cut it with a pair of wire cutters and I strongly recommend welding the box to the hitch extension after assembly so it doesn't get stolen. Great customer support and shipped on time.

  • Cargo Carrier with Spare Tire Clearance for 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
As a first step, you will need to determine what kind of clearance you will need. Measure from the hitch pin hole rearward until you clear the furthest rearward portion of the spare tire. The cargo carrier you choose will need to have a shank that is longer than that dimension. The FAQ article I've linked for you shows how to take that measurement. If your Wrangler has the stock tire size, this distance will be around 6 inches, but if you have larger tires, this distance could be greater....

Hello Dan, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2200 is suitable for use on the back of a travel trailer or 5th wheel. As long as your RV bumper or trailer hitch is rated for the kind of weight you want to carry, you will be good to go.

  • Is There Option to Add License Plate Bracket to Carpod Cargo Carrier M2200
Hey David, we have one license plate bracket with an LED light that may work for you with the Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light with Mounting Bracket, # LPL55CB. At this time there are no license plate brackets with lights that are specifically designed to work with hitch mounted cargo carriers, but this bracket provides attachment points for a license plate and has a light if you wanted to run trailer wiring to it.

  • Can the Yakima EXO Swing Away Carrier Be Used On A 2017 Ford F-350 With an In-Bed Camper?
The Yakima EXO Swing Away Storage System w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier and Cargo Carrier # Y44ZR is not actually meant to be used with any type of hitch extender or adapter so with your truck having a hitch extender, it's not going to be recommended that you use this as is. That said, seeing as though you're still going to need to use some type of an extension, the Yakima StraightShot Hitch Extension # Y69VR has been approved and will work great with the EXO Swing Away # Y44ZR. • How To Move Carpod Cargo Carrier Away From Exhaust Heat on SUV
The exhaust melting cargo on a cargo carrier like the Carpod part # M2200 is not as common as you may think unless the cargo carrier is the exact same height at the exhaust or relatively close to it. We typically recommend at least 12 inches between the exhaust tip and the carrier to prevent melting. If you are experiencing excessive heat from the exhaust the best way to fix this is point the exhaust down with an exhaust tip. I recommend to use an exhaust tip that points away from the...

  • Hitch Cargo Carrier Availability for Dog Cages
For hauling anything at the rear of a vehicle on a trailer hitch is going to require a cargo carrier. We don't offer ones specifically for (empty) dog cages but a very popular carrier that measures 24 by 59 inches is the Curt part # C18151. Or for an enclosed carrier the Carpod part # M2200 is another option. This mesh carrier measures 23 inches wide by 47 inches long with a height of 22 inches.

I took a look at your account and it looks like you purchased the Cargo Bag for Carpod Hitch Mounted Cargo part # M2202 with the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel part # M2205. The cargo bag is designed to go inside of the car pod to protect your cargo from the elements not around the car pod. I have attached a photo of what I mean. There is not a cover for the outside of the Carpod at this time.

This cargo carrier has walls that fold flat and the entire carrier will fold up when not being used. The outside dimensions are 48-3/4 inches long x 24 inches wide x 22 inches tall, and it fits in a 2 inch receiver opening. It depends on what you are trying to do. If it is in relation to the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2200 you were looking at, there is no set guide for what vehicles would need a hitch extender. But, Since the spare tire is on the back, you will most likely require the use of a hitch extender. However it should be noted that any time you use a hitch extender, or any type of adapter, that the tongue weight of your hitch will reduced by 50%.
