On the 24x48-3/4 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, # M2200, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier is 4 inches. On the 2010 Honda Pilot, it will clear the rear bumper but you will not be able to raise the rear hatch with the carrier in place.

What I recommend is an enclosed carrier that swings out to the side so that you have complete access to the rear of the vehicle and can open the rear hatch. Take a look at the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs # Y62VR. As you can see in the video, the carrier will swing out to the right allowing the hatch to open. It has 10 cubic feet of cargo space; you can lock it to the hitch, and you can lock the cargo using the same key by changing the lock cores.

I have included a link to the installation details and links to some videos on this carrier for you.
