A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.

Works great I use it mainly to carry sod

PROS: Always-great service from etrailer. Low cost unit. Seems sturdy enough for its purpose. Assembles with basic hand tools. Has many strategic holes for tarp ties and ratchet straps. CONS: Hardware bag had been opened when I received my unit and a nylon locknut was missing. The thin finish damages easily. Two-piece, bolt-together basket is subject to minor diagonal warping. Mesh base seems to have minimum possible welds to frame. SUMMARY: Cheap-n-cheerful solution for occasional or destructive use. For routine carry, I would step up to a sturdier unit and also purchase a stabilizing kit for the hitch.

I put this on my Yamaha Viking quad to haul garbage cans down our 250', 35 percent grade driveway. This was very easy to assemble, only 15 bolts, and works as intended. Purchasing from etrailer was easy, the order was filled promptly and I received it within 5 days of ordering.

Comments
It works great! I have a 200 driveway with a 30 grade. I keep my garbage cans strapped to it. I struggled to get them down before I bought this platform.

Went together great. Seems real sturdy. As with most receivers there is some play so I’ll get an anti rattle pin just to tighten it all up.

Decided to have a front end hitch receiver mounted on my pick up to carry two bikes while towing my camper. Didn't want my bikes/cargo tray taking a beating at the rear of a 24' camper. Went together easily. Used Stromberg's bike adapter kit and had no trouble with this new set up. With camper the bikes go up front, regular use I would just move to rear of truck. No issues with bikes secured up front. Needed this wider tray so the bike closer to the truck did not have the foot pedal touching the truck's front grill.

My primary reason for purchasing the CC-100 was to help volunteers haul hay at a local non-profit horse sanctuary. We deliver hay bales year-round by pulling wagons or sleds by hand, and we have one large pasture that is not close to the barn. For volunteers who have a trailer hitch on their vehicle, the CC-100 makes it much easier to deliver multiple hay bales to that pasture in one trip. The CC-100 is rugged, and has been used many times to haul a snowblower to the barn. This carrier definitely lightens the workload for us, especially in the winter months. Very happy with the quality. Highly recommend.

Great carrier for the price. It went together well. I was missing one nyloc nut but I had another one around the house so no biggie. Installed onto the hitch receiver, it's a bit more wobbly than I'd have hoped, but works just fine for what I need.

If you are looking for a utilitarian hitch carrier this is it. It has a few things I thought could have been done better(like where the cuts in the mesh floor are for the through bolts), but as far as sturdiness it's a lot better than the run of the mill cheap ones. If you can put something together with pictures, there is nothing to assembly, but the directions themselves are lacking. Overall I am well pleased as I stood on it and jumped up and down with no damage. It will be great for hauling game out of the woods, or firewood, or whatever. I'm bolting a 36X20 aluminum box on it for camping and just leave it as is for deer. I would buy it again. Oh and don't go looking for the plastic end cap in the directions. They already inserted it. Ask me how I know.

- CC-100
by:

The flat metal strip was welded to the expanded metal of the platform at a slight angle. Therefore a bolt could not be inserted in the 3rd hole when attaching the receiver bar. Please see the attached picture. I had to cut a larger notch in the metal strip in order to attached this bolt.

Received everything in a timely manner - 2 days. My order included the cargo carrier, a cargo bag, and a Curt anti-rattle kit. Just a note for newbies like me. The shank is the part of the accessory that is inserted into the receiver (the part that is attached to the vehicle). The Curt anti-rattle kit does not fit properly with this cargo carrier. The instructions for the anti-rattle kit indicates that it will fit in the shank of all Curt products... I have a Curt receiver... I rigged the anti-rattle kit to work with this cargo carrier but it's a bit of a pain. The cargo carrier box appeared to have been opened previously. The box was torn open already. I found the instructions and determined that all the parts were there so no harm no foul. Easy-to-follow assembly instructions but having a friend to help would have sped things up a lot. Easily attaches to the receiver and bingo. All done. Light weight. I can carry it and mount it to the vehicle by myself with ease. I will be buying some reflective tape to put along the back of it. I want it to be more visible to anyone following - especially in the dark.

Comments
Great product. Very happy with it still. I doesnt get used all the time but I have used it to haul heavier dirty items that I didnt want to put in the trunk. For example, my lawn mower. If I had to buy a cargo carrier again I would probably choose this one again.

The shipping speed was awesome! The product was as described. So far, So good. I mean, they ask you for a review a soon as its delivered. Lol I haven't used it yet but I did immediately put it together and all the nuts and bolts were there. Hardware is silver colored, I painted them black when it was finish essembled.

Doesn’t fit in a 2 inch hitch well at all , tons of slopp, going to have to shim it to get it to fit properly.

Comments
Because of manufacturing tolerances, some products may be sloppier in a hitch than others. To help keep this cargo carrier from rattling around, I recommend using an anti-rattle device like the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061

Great product, this is my second one. I use it for hauling deer during archery season and it fits them well. Unfortunately this package arrived open and the bag holding all the nuts and bolts was open and all the hardware was rolling around loose in the box. Maybe I ended up with a package that someone else returned? I haven't put it together yet, but hoping everything I need is still there.

Comments
Ive owned a couple of these for years now. They hold up great and are a nice large size for deer hunting. The finish and hardware will suffer a bit after a few winters of salty roads but nothing I didnt expect. Keep your exhaust pipes in mind when loading gear. The heat has melted plastic tarps a bit. I got a 90 degree swivel from a auto shop or hardware store, dont remember which, and it fit on my exhaust with a hose clamp so that I can reroute the heat temporarily when transporting stuff.

I have not had a chance to use it yet but it seems like it will do a decent job at what it’s designed for. The reason for the three stars is simply for the assembly process. The two brackets you put on first aren’t actually square so there is only one way to put them on. The directions do not specify this or give detailed enough pictures about this and many other parts to the assembly process. It sounds way more simple than it actually was. What should have taken about 5 minutes to assemble took me about 30. I suggest to just not try and look at the instructions and just assemble it yourself.

Product was just as described. I was buying this as a replacement for one I previously had. My wife was rear ended with the hitch haul and the back and it was demolished, probably saved a few lives in the process. I get lots of use out of this item. I love loading up gas cans on the back for lawn equipment and keeping the containers out of my vehicle. With the travel bag I ordered with it, there seems to be an endless amount of stuff I can place on the rack and leave more room for my kids in our vehicle.

As always with eTrailer, the service and delivery are TOPS!!! The carrier is exactly what I wanted for my '04 F150 with pop-up truck camper. This allows me to remove my tailgate and put my external storage items securely on the carrier for our next camping trip. Assembly took maybe 10 minutes, if that. Yes, it wobbles, but that was expected. I'm going to add a couple of support arms to sit on the bumper which will eliminate the wobble, but you don't have to. eTrailer is the best.

Seems sturdy. I liked the price. Time will tell. Packaging less than desirable. Heard metal parts banging together before opening box. Luckily no deep scratches down to the metal after opening box. Bag material containing bolts was thinner than a Glad sandwich bag. Bolts had broken thru and were loose in the box. Must have been like that for awhile because some hardware had made their way into the main support tube. Missing one short carriage bolt so had to purchase one locally. End cap lip inside the main support tube is in the way of thru bolt hole so you have to drill thru the clearance hole to clear the way for the bolt. Otherwise went together pretty quickly with everything lining up well. I've decided to reverse the 8 carriage bolts that hold the two pieces together from the heads being on the outside to the heads being on the inside. I'll get some acorn nuts to pretty it up. That way the screw threads won't be in the way and digging into my waterproof bag.

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier for RV to Carry Liberty Electric Tricycle
I'll start off by saying that because of the extra movement that can occur at the rear of an RV, you can only use a cargo carrier with a solid shank in the receiver on the back of your 2005 Class C on a Sprinter chassis; this also means that you're not going to be able to find a cargo carrier with a shank rise. I have a solution, but the Stromberg Carlson # CC-100 is only 23" inside to inside, so I think it's going to be a tad bit too small. I recommend using the Reese Solo Cargo Carrier...
