When the removable arms are out, the brackets on this setup sit tucked back within the grille so they’re nearly invisible. You won’t have any bulky crossbar or hardware sticking out. That low-profile design keeps the front end looking clean and protects the mounting points from scrapes and road debris when you’re driving around town without your tow bar attached.
Hooking up for a trip doesn’t take long with the direct-connect system. Each arm slides into the bracket, twists to lock, and clicks securely into place. To disconnect, just pull the built-in pin, twist, and slide it out. No tools or extra crossbar needed. This setup makes single-person hookups easy whether you’re in your driveway or at a campsite.
This base plate bolts directly to the frame with no welding required, giving you a solid connection point for your motor-home-mounted tow bar. The computer-cut steel construction provides consistent strength across both brackets, and the black powder coat resists corrosion from road salt and moisture mile after mile.
The base plate connects straight to Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch—like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2—so there’s no quick-disconnect crossbar to manage. The clean layout reduces parts to track and keeps your towing gear simple and reliable for every trip.
You don’t need a welder or special tools to get this installed. The kit mounts directly onto existing frame points with standard tools and comes with clear instructions and all necessary mounting hardware. It’s practical for anyone who likes doing their own projects and wants a durable setup ready for long-distance towing.

Great instructions and super easy to install. Installation only took me about an hour on my 2020 Ranger.
Etrailer video made installation a breeze, works as advertised.
I installed these plates on our 2019 Ford Ranger. They look and function perfectly. Great quality product
This is one of several items I have purchased from etrailer and have been well satisfied with the service. The numerous videos have been extremely helpful as well.
Simple to install after taking off the needed body parts
Fit like a glove!
Baseplate video was much appreciated. Went on exactly as described.
I called, and got the right information. Later on that day I ordered online and everything came on time.
The mount, and the wiring kit fit exactly as expected.
I bought several items over the years and I highly recommend etrailer.
Base plates fit perfectly into my roadmaster all terrain tow bar. Mounting on the truck looks to be pretty straight forward.
I got everything I needed to wire my Ford Ranger to be able to pull it behind my RV. The instructions were simple so I had no problem installing. It's saved me a great deal of money by being able to do it myself.
excellent quality, very easy installation. The instructions were great and the [online] videos help also.
Installed without issue using the video. Works as advertised.
Can I say that Roadmaster is concerned with the customer truthfully? Yes. Simple and solid design. Unrelated, there was an issue with another Roadmaster part, and inmediately contacted me to resolve the potential problem with an exchange.
Still working fine. Have probably towed my Ranger 5 or 6000 miles behind my motorhome since installing the base plate kit with no problems.
I like doing business with this company. They are very organized, deliver on time, carry good products, and have excellent follow up. The "how to" videos really help if you are a DIYer. This base plate kit arrived as advertised and fit perfect.
We purchased these for our new 2019 Ford Ranger. Installed ourselves with great instructions from Roadmaster and etrailer.
Driver side bracket fit like a glove, the passenger side mounting holes are 1/16" too low. Had to drill a larger size outer hole and oblong the inner hole. At that, I still had to thread the bolt through. Poor quality control, probably made in China.

I am sorry to hear about the hiccup in the installation process, but I am glad you were able to get them installed. What coach are you pulling your vehicle with?
Great plates for our ‘21 Ranger. Easy installation in place of the OEM tow hooks. Inconspicuous after install. Fast, easy prep for towing. Use standard 40mm boat scupper stoppers to prevent water and dirt intrusion when not towing-much cheaper than Roadmaster plugs and equally effective.
High quality construction but in some places the factory finish paint was already scratched off out of the box and after 1-2 uses starting to show rust in those areas. Installation on my 2022 Ranger was straight forward, etrailer's instruction videos were very helpful. (Ryan is the best!) I consider myself pretty handy when given instructions but I sure have never tackled anything like removing a bumper on a brand new truck. The videos gave me the confidence to do so.
Install on a 2020 Ford Ranger. The product was excellent. The only problem I had was trying to remove the nuts holding the front bumper on. Ford has these bolts embedded in a hard plastic frame that spaces the three bolts on each side. In trying to remove the nuts I got them started then they would neither come on off nor reinstall. The nuts were spinning the bolts. After thinking about the fix I was in I decided to cut the factory bolts off and replace them with 1/2" x 1 1/2" bolts with fender washers. I tried a sawsall with a metal cutting blade and the bolts ate the teeth right off. I put on a Milwaukee thick metal cutting carbide tooth blade and that did the trick. Other than that, which is Ford's fault, everything went as the etrailer videos showed. If you are doing this make sure to spray the exposed bolt threads with WD-40 or something like before you try to remove the nuts.
Works as advertised

I have had absolutely no problem with this tow bar after using it for a little over a year

It certainly helped to have a friend with a lift, but once up in the air the installation was short and sweet. It bolted right to the frame of the truck and I believe it will do more than just fine.
A little harder to install it without a lift, but the video was great and every step was covered. Tip if you are doing it by yourself: Use the box for the kit to rest the bumper on so you can pull the connector.

Just returned from a 3 month, 13 stop, 5000 mile trip and have no complaints from the full Roadmaster towing system.
Exactly what I needed. Written jbstructuons were spot on and video was very helpful.

No failures. Works as I tended.
My original roadmaster bracket for my 2021 Ford Ranger FX4 cracked. I’ve had the first bracket on the truck for about two years before the failure. Not sure how to make it better.
