Question:

Looking to put a kit together to Flat Tow my 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor. Looking to do a brake controller that stays with the truck, vs the one that sits in the floorbard. I have seen several lighting kits, some more plug and play, just not sure what i need for my Class A.

For your 2023 Ford Ranger Tremor you'll need the following components:

Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524459-5

Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables included and has an adjustable head and shank to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Ranger.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.

Braking System: For the braking system you'll want the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 if your motorhome has hydraulic brakes or the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243 if it has air brakes. Both of these systems are top tier when it comes to installation and operation.

Both of these systems will also require the # RM-88400 in order to prevent the Ranger's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.

If you have a diesel pusher motorhome with hydraulic brakes that is equipped with an engine brake that activates the tail lights when the brakes are applied then you'll need to swap out the # SM99251 for the Roadmaster Invisibrake # RM-8700 instead since the Stay-In-Play activates when the lights illuminate. This system will also require the # RM-88400.
