Can I Flat Tow A Ford Ranger With 2018 Forest River Forrester MBS 2401

Question:

We have a 2018 Forest River Forrester MBS 2401 with full slide down passenger side. Wondering about flat towing a small truck. Can you tell us if Ford Rangers an be flat towed behind this? What is maximum weight we could flat toe? So many conflicting posts when we looks up whether vehicle can be flat towed. Any other recommendations for any other small trucks? Thank you.

Hello Joe, thanks for reaching out. It is possible to flat tow a Ford Ranger. We offer flat tow setups for Ranger models all the way up to 2023, so anything made before this would be a good flat tow candidate. The Toyota Tacoma is another smaller truck that comes to mind that is flat towable.

The maximum weight you can flat tow will depend on your motorhome, and on what your trailer hitch it rated for. Your owners manual should list a max tow capacity for your coach. Most motorhome hitches are rated around 5,000 lbs which would be sufficient for a Ford Ranger. You will need to determine this capacity for your coach and make sure you stay under the max towing capacity listed.
