Hey Carl, welcome back! For a Blue Ox setup to flat tow your 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk I recommend the following:

-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1143

-Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380 (includes safety cables)

-Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM63MR

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251

OR

-Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes # SM99243

The core of the setup is Blue Ox with the base plate and tow bar. For the wiring, Roadmaster is the best and most reliable so we use that on almost all of our installations. Demco makes some of the best brake systems out there so if you want a permanently installed system this is the way to go. You need to choose based on whether you have hydraulic or air brakes in your motorhome. If you want a portable system, the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR is also an option.

The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter to keep your setup level. I attached an article further down on this page which explains how to measure and choose the right adapter. The bracket height of the Blue Ox base plate is 20" so you can use that, along with your RV hitch measurement, to find the correct adapter. The article and this answer page also have a link to our available high low adapters which you can filter by rise/drop.

Hi Robin, i had these 4 items installed on my 2022 jeep Cherokee trail hawk like you recommend, Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1143 , Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM63MR, Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 and Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251. But when i was driving home i notice the screen on my speedometer and the touch screen display would go black for a few seconds and then come back on again. would this be because of a lose wire? i haven't had a chance to go back to the installer just yet ( which is 1hr and 30mins away) and i know you guys have a lot of experienced installing these items. E-Trailer needs to open up a shop in Ontario, Canada because it wasn't no fun finding anybody to do this. thanks in advance. Carl

@Carl I hear you on finding an installer, flat tow setups aren’t something every shop is comfortable with, so it can definitely turn into a hunt. Ontario could use an etrailer bay, that’s for sure. I'm not 100% familiar with the Jeep systems but I think those are pretty well contained so probably not a loose wire. I do know they're pretty voltage sensitive. Make sure they got everything tightened down on the battery. If you have a loose connection, or if it isn't tight after they stacked ring terminals on there, that could be the issue and would be pretty easy to take care of yourself. If they used a factory ground point for installation of other components I would also check that and make sure everything is secure.
