When you’re not towing, this setup keeps things looking clean. The hidden design leaves no brackets or bars sticking out from the front, and the removable arms twist out quickly for a seamless, factory-style look. Once the arms are off, included receiver covers plug into the sockets to keep out dirt and debris while giving the front end a finished appearance.
Each arm slides into the receiver and locks in place with a simple twist. When it’s time to disconnect, just pull the pin, rotate, and remove the arms—no tools needed. The straightforward twist-lock setup makes it easy to line up and connect your tow bar without fuss. This base plate bolts directly to the chassis using included mounting hardware, so there’s no welding required. The heavy-duty steel build spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on suspension components. With its durable powder coat finish, it resists rust and corrosion for long-term use over thousands of towing miles.
The sturdy lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure hookup, and adapter options (sold separately) let you connect with Roadmaster or Demco tow bars if needed. Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately) up front, keeping your wiring organized and accessible during hookups.
The kit comes ready to bolt on with all required hardware—no welding needed. The brackets are designed for a precise fit to your chassis, helping align everything cleanly during install. Once it’s in place, the finished setup measures 24" between brackets with a bracket height of 17-1/2", so you can plan your tow bar alignment with confidence.

The Blue Ox Base Plate kit was easy to install and easy to use.
It is as simple as this. This is a good product. Bolt on and the electric is plug in and no cutting wires and splicing them. No fancy tools to install but it helps if you are mechanically inclined. I have pulled my jeep with it several times this last year with it and it does its job just like it was made to do. I would recommend it to anyone. etrailer has always been good to deal with and communicates well.

I purchased base plates for my jeep Liberty. Fit as expected and came in a timely manner. I have been very satisfied with purchase and doing business with trailer.
Was a easy install
Hardest part was removing bumper cover.
The base plate came very timely but none of the 3/8 hardware was in the box but came with 1/2 bolts that could not be used with this kit. Only 5 of the 3/8 nuts with the welded tail were in the box. I had to go to the local hardware store to purchase the grade 5 bolts at a cost of $18.10. Lock tight would have been nice too.
