That is definitely something we can help with. I will start by saying that for most flat tow installs that we do here, install takes 3 days (8 hour days) at a rate of $150 per hour. Certain parts may qualify for free install. Labor pricing is current as of November 2023.

Next I will provide a list of recommended parts so you can see pricing, followed by some important footnotes for the 2012 Chevy Equinox.

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523160-5
etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e74ZR
Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass # RM76511
Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR

Footnotes:

As per GM Technical Service Bulletin 17-NA-348, GM has identified 4-cylinder models of this vehicle as having steering instability issues while towing. If you have a 4-cylinder model of this vehicle, you will need a # RM-76517 instead of a # RM76511, and will need to leave fuse DLIS 32 intact and pull the ABS module fuse located under the hood. Note: due to manufacturing variances, some 4-cylinder models may label the ABS module fuse as 15 or 16. You will also need to install a charge wire kit, pn #156-25. This information is current as of November 20, 2017. Contact the vehicle manufacturer for further updates.

You will need to install a Charge Line Kit; sold separately. 4-cylinder models will require fuse bypass RM-76517, while V6 models will need to use part number # RM76511.
