Do All the Base Plates for a 2012 Jeep Liberty Require Removing the Front Bumper

Question:

Many options on base plates, towbars, braking systems. Was going to go blue Ox all the way, but as I am looking to self install, blue Ox video shows have to take off the entire front bumper and fascia. Roadmaster does not seem to show that being necessary is it? If not necessary, does that make it a less secure or durable product based on the varied installation? Thank you

The base plate options for a 2012 Jeep Liberty all require removal of the front bumper cover. I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX1131 which can then be used with the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar part # BX7380. In regards to the braking system, the Blue Ox Patriot Braking System part # BLU37TR is my personal favorite. The Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System part # TR118821 could then be used to complete your setup.
