If you like a seamless front end when you’re not towing, this setup delivers. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms has a completely hidden design that keeps brackets from protruding past the front of your vehicle. When you’re done towing, each arm twists out easily, leaving only small receivers behind. Snap-in covers keep dirt and debris out and give the base plate a finished look.
The removable arms attach with a simple twist and lock into place for a secure connection. When it’s time to disconnect, pull the pin, give the arm a turn, and lift it free—no tools required. The sturdy lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid link every time. For reference, the bracket spacing is 38-1/2" with a bracket height of 17", making it easy to plan your setup.
This base plate bolts directly to the chassis using the included hardware, so no welding is required. Its durable steel build spreads towing forces evenly to help protect your suspension while on the road. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion through long-term use and thousands of miles of travel.
Built-in mounting points let you attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately) right to the base plate for clean wiring management. That keeps your lighting hookup simple when connecting to your tow vehicle’s system.
If you already own towing components, this base plate is adaptable for different tow bar systems. It connects directly to Blue Ox tow bars, and adapters are available separately for Roadmaster (RM-031 or RM-031-5) and Demco (DM9523041) setups. Whether you’re reusing old equipment or starting fresh, it’s easy to make this kit part of your towing setup.

The base plates work well and look great. Perhaps not as easy an install as some people say. Required a bit of bumper modification (not much). Ended up taking about 3 hours to complete the install

The tolerances were very tight. I thought at one time it was the wrong baseplate. After talking to seller and trying a slightly different approach, it did fit and I have been satisfied.

I contacted Joshua at etrailer.com. I ordered and received a new Blue OX base plate and wire harness for my 2022 RAM 1500 4X4. The etrailer price was cheaper than using the Blue OX direct website. The base plate will be installed in the near future so I can tow my RAM behind my Class A Motorhome. Joshua was very knowledgeable and very helpful during the ordering process.
The only issue I have with these is I feel the safety cable ears are on the wrong side of the unit face. This position forces the cable to chafe against the lock pins.

Great product, easy installation
I ordered the brackets for a 2020 Ram Rebel. They went on the truck perfectly but the bumper would not fit back on. I had to remove the side of the bracket designed to hold the light plug in. I would recommend these brackets and I would also recommend cutting that portion off prior to install.

The base plates work great on my 23 Ram 1500. The difficult part of the installation was getting the front bumper reinstalled. I needed to take the truck to the local dealer to get it back on. Cost me about $150 but well worth it because the rest of the installation was pretty simple.
We have used Blue Ox products for flat towing behind our RV for years. We recently acquired a new flat tow vehicle, so had to get it set up. We ordered the Blue Ox baseplate and Air Force One braking system from e-Trailer. Prices were better than ordering directly from the manufacturer, as was customer service. Quinn from e-Trailer was great to work with and made our buying experience go smoothly.
Install went well, just as advertised, excepting one small issue. To fit the grill front back in place, a small section of the stamped sheet metal grill support had to be removed for clearance around the socket for removable pin. I believe it was only on the driver's side, but we clearanced both sides anyway. It took a small side grinder with a cut-off disc to remove the impeding material. It wasn't a problem for is since we were on a hoist and had access to tools. Others might be frustrated if having to drive somewhere to have the metal removed from the grill support.
My vehicle is a 2019 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, new body style.
I have bought 3 base plates from Blue Ox Dealers. This was the only issue from all 3 installs.

P.S. Why did you send me 4 short Safety Cables, instead of the usual 2 longer ones? Kind of frustrating and clumsy feeling when connecting ans disconnecting.

Blue ox equipment is the best.although this type was a pain to install as opposed to my last one on 2019 Ram 2500.

Good quality and everything fit like it should
Great product. Clean welding with no weld splatter, Paint coating is holding up strong. Only wish the plastic inserts caps where the hitch pins go would be avaiable for replacement.
They fit perfectly and look great!
I did have an issue getting the bumper back on.
I had to remove the plastic facias below the headlight on each side. The rubber mounted to the top of the bumper would not allow the bumper to go back in.
The facia's came off easily following the instructions on YouTube for removing the grille. The facia's were in the first part of that video.
