Question:

It appears that the Roadmaster baseplate is much more popular than the blue ox base plate for the ram 1500. I am saying that based on all the reviews that I see for each. Would you agree that the Roadmaster baseplate is a stronger option?

Unfortunately, we don't have any video footage of the Blue Ox BL99FR being installed at this time. It is on our list of needed test-fits.

The Roadmaster # RM-522203-5 would be an excellent choice for your 2020 Ram 1500 Limited. At one time, I preferred the Blue Ox setup because of the removable drawbars, but for later model vehicles, Roadmaster offers the same setup. Roadmaster also offers superior warranty coverage. The base plates are covered by a limited lifetime warranty, versus a 3 year for the Blue Ox. I've linked to a product install video that you might find helpful. In addition to the base plates, you'll also need a tow bar like the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, part # RM-522, safety chains like # RM-643, a wiring harness kit like # RM-15267 and a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR.
