Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this CURT ball mount for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. Now, if you've lifted your truck or you switched to a new trailer, your old ball mount might not line up anymore and that can make towing rough or unsafe. So this mount is going to solve that problem by letting you get the perfect drop or rise for a level towing. So this is gonna give you a smoother and safer ride. And this is going to fit your standard two inch trailer hitch receiver.
And it does have a one inch ball hole, so it's gonna be compatible with most towing setups. And from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, this measures right at 13 inches. And so depending on your setup, this is gonna be able to handle up to 5,000 pounds gross towing weight and 500 pounds tongue weight in the drop position, or 3,500 pounds gross towing weight and 350 pounds tongue weight in the rise position. So obviously I have it in the drop position right now. You flip this over, that'll put you in the rise position.
So this is designed with versatility and practicality in mind and you're going to be able to flip it to use this in either this dropped position of 10 inches or when you flip it an 8 inch rise. So it's going to work with a variety of trailer heights. This shank is gonna give you the extra clearance between your hitch and your trailer coupler, making it easier to avoid bumper interference. And this is built from heavy duty steel. It uses a, it's strong enough to handle that 5,000 pounds of towing capacity without bending or flexing.
And the black powder coat finish is gonna protect it from rust, moisture, and road grime. So this is a sturdy mount, it's corrosion resistant, and it's gonna be a flexible option that's gonna help you keep your trailer level and your towing experience safe and smooth. Now if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we carry here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy.

Does the job, however there's a lot of play when hitch mount is inserted into the hitch and when towing with an empty trailer. Very loud. Have to buy a silencer that goes around and secures the product.
Needed a higher rated ball mount. This fit the bill.
Once it finally got here...after being routed from Missouri to Salt Lake City, UT, then to Denver and back to us at Grand Junction, CO....which is 250 miles WEST of Denver and only 250 miles East of Salt Lake City...It is exactly what I wanted to get. Many Thanks for the person on the phone who helped me AFTER I first received an empty, ripped up box with NOTHING in it, then had a second one sent to me.
This helps with the trick step clearance
Perfect fit only 10 minutes to install. The only thing was the ball mount didn't have the holding pin with it. But no big deal picked one up from the store.
Reaches out past the spare tire on my B ronco.
Easy install, took around 30 minutes by my self to install. Hardest part of install was torquing the bolts !
Installed 13322 Class III Hitch - Gm 1500/2500 Pickup and Curt Class III Ballmount -2ball-2 Drop
Extremely heavy duty. Just what I neede d.
The Extra Long Ball Mount proved useful immediately upon receipt. Delivery was prompt, and the updates from etrailer.com helped plan transport of several bicycles, simultaneously with a camper trailer. The extended length facilitated use with a Swagman bicycle rack, also purchased via etrailer.com. The product arrived in excellent condition, with correct capacity rating, and works perfectly, and in conjunction with the bicycle rack. I recommend purchases from etrailer.
This ball mount is long enough to extend past my Wranglers spare tire carrier.
Great products Hitch gave me the 2” lift that was needed. Curt wiring harness fits perfectly.
I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load.
etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.
The Rock Tamer looks good. However, the Ball Mount class III 3/4 rise 2”drop by 12” long for a 2” receiver was not in the box. The box that had it listed was empty.
Very nice quality - just what I needed to clear my tailgate while towing.
Both items are doing great! The only issue is trying to get the 2” ball torqued to 250 ft lbs! I had a 1/2” torque wrench that goes to 250 ft lbs, but could not make it click. I called up Lile’s Trailers and he had a big ol impact gun. He also put his torque wrench on there and it clicked!
Wanted 2-1/2" size to eliminate the 2" adaptor and all the play that was associated with that. Also appreciate the 1-1/4" ball mounting hole. Seems like a sturdier setup and more trustworthy for my racing trailer.
The Curt ball mount with the 10" drop is a perfect fit for my motorcycle trailer. The extended length really helps in tight turns. Best of all, it's made in USA. Stay safe on those Ozark streams
here's a couple more photos of the Curry ball mount. It provides just enough clearance to allow me to make sharp turns without making contact with the rear spare tire
Well made and exactly what I needed to haul my 3000lb. travel trailer. Delivered quickly and I appreciated the detailed updates about my order as it was processed and shipped. The extra length of the mount allows my SUV liftgate to clear the trailer jack and open all the way. 4" rise ball mounts are not easy to find and I'm pleased to have found one at a reasonable price.
Already has scratches on it when I pulled it out of the box. Looks like the ball or something else rubbed against it chipping the paint in transport/shipping. Looks sturdy the couple scratches on it wont hurt it for what I need and it will get more as time goes on. The paper packing material doesnt really help on heavy metal items.
I needed an extra long shank to accommodate a Curt bike rack that attaches to the hitch mount. This worked perfectly, and it's heavy duty and well made.
I purchased Curt's 6" drop ball mount for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport which is not lifted but has 32" tall tires. The utility trailer I plan to purchase recommends a 12" tongue/ball height for level towing. The Curt 6" drop ball mount places my tongue/ball height at 13.5" which is acceptable. The bottom of my tow ball mounting nut is now 12" above the road surface. Plenty of clearance for safe towing. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of my Curt ball mount. I'm looking forward to purchasing a utility trailer soon. I think it will tow very nicely using my Curt 6" drop ball hitch.
This is the real deal and perfect for towing heavy loads for Super Duty 250 and 350 capicities.
Solid Forged Steel and I feel sorry for ever who runs into the back of the truck.
I added a pair of coupling links for easier connecting of the safety chains.
It looks incredible on the vehicle and it is where it belongs on the Super Duty line up of trucks.
I highly recommend this hitch for any working professional who is the towing business and needs the best of the best equipment.
The length of this hitch is great. I can finally open the tailgate of my truck when the trailer is hooked up even if it only clears the tailgate by about 1/2 inch. I couldn't find another hitch long enough to allow that
