Features to know about

Dial In the Perfect Height

aluma-tow adjust height

You back up to your trailer and realize the coupler doesn't line up with your hitch. Maybe you were hauling materials for a job with one trailer during the week, then swapped to your boat trailer for a weekend on the water. The Aluma-Tow 360 ball mount solves that problem and makes life a lot less stressful when you're facing a steep driveway or driving a lifted truck. Just slide the pins out, adjust the height in clear 1-1/4" steps, put them back, and you're level. And when you drive away, your connection is secure and you'll realize it was a whole lot easier to manage.

Strength Without the Weight

aluma-tow installed in hitch

The aircraft-grade aluminum frame makes this hitch lighter than most steel mounts, so moving or installing it takes less effort. That build doesn't take away from its strength, since it's rated for up to 15,000 lbs with the 2-5/16" ball (just keep in mind the 2" ball is rated up to 10,000 lbs). Plus, the oxide coating provides corrosion resistance, so you can leave the hitch on through spring storms and harsh winters without worrying about it corroding.

Peace of Mind Included

aluma-tow locking hitch pins

If you keep the hitch installed, that shouldn't mean anyone else can walk off with it. That's why this setup includes two keyed-alike locking pins. There's one for the receiver and one for the ball mount, so everything stays put when you stop for lunch in a busy neighborhood or if you're unhooked at the campground. It's one less thing you have to pick up to round out your setup.

Stash It and Go

aluma-tow stowed

Once your hitch is locked in, you don't want to keep wrestling with it just to park in the garage or walk around your driveway without bruising your shin. When you're done towing, just pull the dual pins and clips, rotate the hitch under your bumper, and put the pins back. This just takes out the pain of handling it more than you need. And when it's time to tow, just swing it back into place. You really can leave it on all the time.

Quality finish and materials. Looks flawless. Fit is less precise than I hoped for. But this is my first adjustable hitch so I don't have a good reference point. Having said that, you can look at the design and see that you have multiple points of movement that form a chain - hitch mount/shaft to hitch mount/hitch block/ hitch ball. Each is adjustable so, each has some gap. All together, the hitch ball moves about 1" from left to right, less up and down. The capacity exceeds my load by 3x so i'm ok with it. If i was pushing the limits that slop would concern me more. Love being able to remove just the shaft and mount to save my shins while keeping the circular main shaft on the truck as it sits tight and is nice and round.

  • Are the Hitch Balls Removable on the Aluma-Tow 360 Ball Mount?
They sure can Clay. The hitch balls on the Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable 2-Ball Mount item # UR45PR are completely independent from each other. This means you can keep both installed or just the one you're using. The Aluma-Tow 360 item # UR45PR fits a 2" receiver and has a 10,000 lbs capacity with the 2" ball and a 15,000 lbs capacity with the 2-5/16" hitch ball. It has a maximum drop of 7" and a maximum rise of 6". You can change the ball height in 1-1/4" increments without tools. The Flip...

  • Where is the Aluma-Tow Adjustable Ball Mounts Made? What Can I Get that is USA Made?
Hello Myleen, The Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # UR45PR is manufactured in China. We actually have this ball mount temporarily off the site because there was a recall. If you want something that is made here in the USA, built to last, and are not towing over 10K, I would go with the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7" Drop, 7-1/2" Rise - 10K - Chrome # BWTS10040C. B&W not only makes excellent products, but they also do a lot for their community. NBC did a special on them...

  • How Far Does The Aluma Tow UR45PR Stick Out When In The Stowed Position?
Hey Eric, When using the Aluma Tow Ball Mount in the stowed position there are 2 different measurements. If you are using the first hitch pin hole it will protrude 5". If you are to use the 2nd hitch pin hole the ball mount will protrude 7" when in the stowed position. How much clearance do you have or need with that multi-pro?

  • Comparing Aluma-Tow Adjustable Ball Mount To B&W, etrailer, and Trimax
Good day Brooke! That's a valid question as we just started carrying the Aluma-Tow ball mounts (Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch Silver # UR45PR and Black# UR95PR). They are very comparable in quality to the Trimax Adjustable Ball Mount w Receiver Lock - 12" Drop - Dual Ball # TMX24QR, but the Aluma ball mounts stand out since they can stow away when not in use by rotating the ball assembly 180 or 360 degrees after simply removing the 2 pins. In comparison to some other...

  • How Does The Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable Ball Mount Rotate To The Stowable Position?
Good afternoon Heracio! That's a good question. I attached a demonstration video for you to check out, and in the video you'll see why they call it the 360 ball mount. Once you slide out the two pins, the ball easily rotates 180 degrees to lock it in the stowed position, or another 180 degrees all the way back to the front. In order to switch ball sizes, you will need to flip the entire shank assembly upside down, which is still not very difficult at all. FYI, you can get the Aluma-Tow...

  • How To Lock Aluma-Tow Adjustable Ball Mount To Prevent It From Being Stolen
Hello Jackie, there are actually locks included in the Aluma-Tow adjustable 2" & 2-5/16" ball mount kits for 2" receivers: -silver # UR45PR -black # UR95PR There are actually 2 locking pins; 1 for the shank in the receiver, and 1 for the ball mount portion. This way it is locked to the vehicle, and also keeps the balls locked to the shank. Then there is a theft-deterrent lock ring at the bottom of the ball mount assembly which makes it difficult to remove without a specialty tool. Most...

  • Do Aluma Tow 360 Adjustable Ball Mounts Have Lots Of Play And Wobble When Towing?
Good morning Elijah. You are in luck, because Aluma-Tow does a really nice job of building these 360 adjustable ball mounts with extremely tight tolerances, making sure they don't have much play or wobble. I've towed with some lower quality adjustable ball mounts before, so I relate to you on this topic for sure. You can see in the attached video that there is very little to no play at all when handling and adjusting the ball mount. This model comes in black # UR95PR or silver # UR45PR....

  • How Far Does Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable Ball Mount Stick Out From Receiver?
Hey Galiath, the Aluma-Tow 360 Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch SILVER # UR45PR and the BLACK version # UR95PR both have 2 hitch pin holes for adjustable length. The first pin is 10" from the ball center, while the other pin is 11-1/4" from the ball center. You'll likely want to use the further pin to increase the distance from your aftermarket bumper on your Tacoma. Just measure from your receiver's hitch pin hole to the rear part of your bumper to make sure you are not close to 11-1/4"....
