Question:
Tekonsha Primus IQ controller, new, hooked up to 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 20A fuse. When not connected to trailer, unit powers up correctly but when manual knob is activated the fuse blows. Every time. Blue wire disconnected, same thing. 12V on red wire when brake pedal depressed.

Sounds like you need a In-Line Circuit Breaker like the 20 Amp item # 9506P. The fuse isn't enough to handle the current for the over-ride button. These are recommended when installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller item # TK90160.
