The Demco Air Force One and Stay-IN-Play Duo supplemental braking systems use an actuating cylinder that applies the brake pedal in your towed vehicle. This cylinder mounts on the car's brake arm, where it remains out of the way when you drive normally. Most towed vehicles have a brake pedal that extends out from below the dash. However, the brake pedal in a Smart car extends up from the floor board. If the actuator of your braking system is mounted directly to the arm of a Smart car's brake pedal, then it will get in the way of your foot during normal driving. To fix this problem, you can mount this adapter bracket on the arm of your Smart car's brake pedal.
