Drop Shank Recommendation for Taller Vehicle with Equalizer Weight Distribution System
Published 12/29/2017 >
Question:
We have a 16’ Airstream with Equal-I-zer, originally towed with an Isuzu Rodeo. We traded the Rodeo for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with tow package which is taller than our original set-up. Can you recommend an adapter or alternate hitch set-up that will work with the Equal-I-zer? A local tech suggested getting a 6” hitch and foregoing the Equal-I-zer. Please advise.

Since you went to a taller vehicle all you need is a drop shank for the weight distribution system like the part # EQ90-02-4400 which will give you the ability to lower the head of the unit so you can tow the trailer level.
