Upgrade the factory pin box on your fifth-wheel trailer to this cushioned model that dampens road shock and reduces back-and-forth chucking for a more relaxed towing experience. Unlike air bags, the internal rubber spring requires no maintenance.

Most standard pin boxes are constructed of steel and are built with the sole purpose of connecting your fifth-wheel trailer to your tow vehicle. There is no cushioning built in, so a factory pin box doesn't do anything to provide a comfortable ride when you're hauling your fifth-wheel trailer.
This MORryde pin box, however, is built with an internal rubber spring that absorbs road shock and vibration at the connection point. So if you're driving on unpaved roads or uneven pavement, this pin box will prevent any road shock and vibration you encounter from transferring from your tow vehicle to your fifth-wheel trailer and vice versa. In other words, the rubber spring takes the brunt of the impact so you and your towing setup don't have to. And because this unit uses a rubber spring instead of an internal air bag like some other upgraded pin boxes, there's no maintenance required.
Although this pin box can tow up to 24,000 lbs, the internal rubber shear spring is optimized for trailers that range from 11,001 to 14,000 lbs. A rubber spring built for 24,000-lb trailers would be too stiff to provide any cushion for an 14,000-lb trailer, while a rubber spring built for 14,000-lb trailers would be too flexible for a 24,000-lb trailer. To get the best results from this cushioned pin box, the sweet spot is a trailer in the 11,001-lb to 14,000-lb range.
Chucking, the back-and-forth jerking movement you feel in your cab when towing, occurs most frequently during starts and stops and while making turns. A typical, factory pin box creates a rigid connection without much give. So when a harsh stop occurs, all of the trailer's forward momentum gets forced through that stiff connection, slamming the king pin in the hitch and jerking your truck around.
To combat this, glide pads are built into the MORryde pin box that allow the skid plate to shift up to 3" forward and backward and 1-1/2" side to side to compensate for some of that violent motion so that you don't have to feel it in your cab.
This MORryde pin box is a direct replacement for your existing Lippert Rhino pin box, so the installation is very straightforward. After removing your old pin box, the MORryde can be mounted into place using the same hardware and bolt holes used by the factory pin box.
Because of the weight of the unit, you'll want a couple of friends to help you lift it into place during installation. Once the hardware is securely bolted down, you'll be ready to go.

I replaced my rhino pinbox on my 5th wheel with the morryde pinbox. I had this on my other trailer and it worked great. This setup works just as good as before.
Quality products, no problem swapping out OEM Lippert Rhino Box for MORryde cushioned hitch. Even upgraded "pin plate" in order to attach Andersen hitch. Not towing camper until 1 August, so I can not comment on hitch capability. Before upgrade, towed camper about 30 miles from dealer to campsite w/ original Andersen set up, a little to much "hitching" and bumping. That's why I upgraded to the Morryde cushioned hitch. Still trying to figure out optimal location to install hitch ball connect/disconnect handle.
I installed this today on my Grand Design Reflection 303. Talking with rep they recommend the 1621HD. I kinda think I should have gotten the lighter unit. My 303 GVWR is 11995 lbs. the HD is good heavier units.
I still helps, I towed it today and I noticed some improvement. I would consider getting the lighter unit if I had it to do again.
This pin box arrived on time and the box was in very good condition. The freight company used their lift gate to put the pallet into the bed of my pickup. That made it possible for this 63 year old to uninstall the old and install the new single handedly.
My main complaint with the old pin box was chucking. I’ve now towed more than a thousand miles with the Morryde. While the chucking has improved it has not been eliminated. I would say it has been reduced about 50%. Bridge abutments are less harsh. Concrete roadway gallop much improved. A significant improvement but not what I had hoped for based on other reviews.
We recently purchased a new camper from an individual who had added a gooseneck adapter. We purchased the MORryde cushioned pin box and took it with us when we picked up the camper - we changed it out in the driveway in about one hour. The ride home was very smooth. We have some rough bridge transitions in our area and the MORryde handled them with ease.
I have had this pin box before on other campers and loved it so when we got our new camper this was the first upgrade that I wanted.
A tip to an easy install, lock it in your hitch first then back it right into your camper. I shored up the head with a 2x4.
Haven’t pulled with this yet but I loved it on the last 2 campers! Too bad they changed the frame every time so I had to buy a new one each time!
All was great except i was missing a bolt. Had all the washers to mount it and the nuts for them. Not a big deal, went and bought a bolt and put it together. Appreciate the quick delivery on it since I am hitting the road this weekend with it.
Has definitely made a difference from the original pin box that was on. Feels alot smoother during travel, especially when braking and accelerating. Customer service is great in answering any questions during install. Thanks etrailer!!
I received the package. Came boxed up. Fortunately I think all the parts are still there, even though the box has a big hole in it. Items are still in good shape.
I love this pin box. Its eliminated 99% of the chucking and the stop/starts are now smooth as silk. MORryde quality is superb as usual. Thanks to etrailer rep Paul, ordering was easy and delivered in four business days.

I received my order in a timely manner. Three or four days after submitting it. It was delivered by truck in a sturdy box strapped on a pallet. No damage to the box or contents. Installation was a breeze. Fitmant was perfect. Upon test driving after installation I was happy with the performance of the rubber pin box. Works as advertised.

Made the ride better.
This pin boxed help the jerking motion back and forth about 80%. That's pretty good in my eyes. Service was great shipping not too bad easy install a little heavy takes two people. Much better than the rhino pin box
I ordered this for my Grand Design 337 5th wheel to help reduce the chucking. I will start this with the order. The Pin Box arrived in a very beat up box. After examining the unit I found that one of the bolt fins was bent about 1" inward, the carrier must have dropped this from a truck. I called E-Trailer support and spoke with a very nice gentleman who took my info and said this does happen occasionally. He set up an advance replacement and prepaid return which shipped 2 days later. The new one arrived in good shape.
I installed the unit today. I am extremely surprised how easy it went replacing the King Pin box. The MORryde box is heavy, using the bed of the truck and some 6x6's I got it the right height and really easy. I found cleaning the bit of rust the housing that the MORryde sits in and a little WD40 made this easier.
I have not connected to the hitch and pulled the camper yet but have heard great things about this unit. I have the PullRite Auto Slide hitch so I had to install the adaptor as well.

I just picked up my GD Reflection 324 today after getting the new pin box installed. Honestly, I don't know why all fifth wheels don't come with this installed (other than it would cost the manufacturer more to add it at the factory). On my '24 F250, all of the shaking and jerking was gone, with the exception of a very bad rail crossing with a torn up railbed. We're planning on a spring break trip next week with the grandkids and it will be much more relaxing getting there.
