Question:

I have a curtA30 in bed and a Rota-flex pin box having clearance problems I would like to spec out a gen-y pin box can you help me select one I have a 2021 GMC Denali and a Vilano 394RK

Thank you for the information and photo! I was able to determine that you have a 1621 SHD (super heavy duty) pin box rated for 21K.

The Gen-Y equivalent is found as part # GY68GR for a 4.5K tongue weight or part # GY46FR for a 5.5K tongue weight. While these are excellent replacement options in and of themselves, if the clearance issue is between the cab on your 2021 GMC Denali and the box on the 5th wheel trailer we'll need to go with the MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box # MR24VR instead if you're looking for an upgraded pin box.

The Gen-Y pin box is shorter than the standard pin box so it will further reduce your turning clearance while the MORryde has more of the standard length so you'll be about the same for clearance. Really your best bet is to adjust the head of your 5th wheel hitch further back if that's possible, use a different 5th wheel hitch that can be adjusted, or use a sliding 5th wheel hitch to gain that clearance.
