This hitch takes care of the turning for you. The automatic slider gives you 14" of fore/aft travel every time you turn, so you won’t have to climb in and out of the cab just to move a manual slider. When you turn, the head glides smoothly toward the tailgate, then back toward the cab when you straighten out. With no gears or small parts to jam up, it’s a simple, low-friction system that just works.
With a gross towing weight rating of 20,000 lbs and a vertical load limit of 5,000 lbs, this hitch is made for big fifth wheels. The steel construction is black powder coated and e-coated for corrosion resistance, so it stays strong even after years of use. The base weighs 187 lbs and the removable hitch plate 43 lbs, giving you a solid, stable foundation you can trust on every haul.
Hooking up is straightforward thanks to the self-locking hitch plate. Once the king pin slides in, the jaw closes automatically and the handle locks itself in place. The precisely laser-cut, wraparound single-hook jaw holds tight with less rattle than slide-bar jaws, giving you a quieter connection that feels secure from the start. You can also lock it with a padlock (sold separately) when you’re parked for extra peace of mind.
The dual-pivot head moves front-to-back and side-to-side so it can follow the trailer’s motion naturally. That flexibility helps smooth out bumps and dips in the road while cutting down on chucking between truck and trailer. The result is a steadier ride with less noise echoing through the cab.
When you’re not towing, this hitch breaks down into manageable pieces so you can clear your bed space fast. The removable hitch plate lifts off separately from the base, so even though it’s heavy duty, it’s still practical to handle without special equipment.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the PullRite Custom Installation Kit with the base rails for the fifth wheel trailer hitches. Has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2013 and newer Ram 3500 trucks with the six and a half foot bed and without the OEM prep package. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the Fit Guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application.
Now this installation kit will let you mount your fifth wheel trailer hitch in the bed of your truck. The mounting brackets, which we've installed on the ends here, these will install beneath your truck bed. And then they provide the attachment points for your above bed base rails. The base rails right here, these are what'll provide the necessary mounting points for your fifth wheel hitch. Now the mounting brackets we mentioned right here, these are custom fit mounting brackets.
They're designed to mount to existing holes in your vehicle's frame so it minimizes drilling and measuring, reduces installation time, and it'll even help avoid known obstacles along your truck's frame. Now one of the best features on these PullRite brackets that I really like are the built in nut tabs. And what those are is they're tabs on each corner of the mounting brackets right below the slotted bolt hole. So where your bolts go, there's a tab here that'll. And what that does, let me just zoom in to try to show you up close.
On this one right here, you can see that thin piece of metal right here. And what those do is these tabs will eliminate one of your biggest problems when installing these mounting brackets on your vehicle. Lots of times when you install a fifth wheel mounting bracket on your vehicle, they don't give you any room underneath there to hold the nut into place while you put the bolt in. So what this does, this is will keep the nuts in place when installing those bolts in your mounting brackets. Basically what you'll do is this thin piece here, you'll bend down, slide the nut into the slot, bend it back up, and it'll hold the nut in place as you put your bolts in.
And they are on all four corners. Just to show you an insert, there's the underside of it to show you what we're talking about. You can see there's the cutout in the tab. You put the nut in there, bend it back in place, and it holds it there when you put your bolt in. Very nice feature to have. Now this kit is compatible with PullRite, B&W Patriot, Curt, Demco, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, and even the Reese above bed fifth wheel hitches. These parts are a black powder coat steel construction, which is corrosion resistant. It includes everything shown here on the table, the two base rails, the custom mounting brackets, all the hardware you need for installation, and even a nice set of installation instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. These parts are made in the USA and again, the gross towing weight capacity on this kit is 20,000 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at the PullRite Custom Installation Kit with the base rails for your fifth wheel trailer hitches.
