Features to know about

Automatic Turning Clearance Without Getting Out: 14" of Fore/Aft Travel

Backing up or taking tight turns with a short-bed truck can be nerve-wracking, but this hitch takes care of it automatically. The PullRite SuperGlide slides up to 14" toward the tailgate when you turn and moves back to center when you straighten out, giving you the clearance you need without ever touching a manual slider. There are no gears or small parts to break—just smooth movement on low-friction plates—so you can make those sharp turns knowing the hitch is doing the work for you.

Built for Big Loads and Long Trips: 20,000 lbs GTW and 5,000 lbs Vertical Load Limit

This hitch is rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight with a 5,000 lbs vertical load limit, giving it the muscle to handle full-size fifth wheels confidently. The head and base are engineered from black powder coated and e-coated steel for corrosion resistance and tested to SAE J2638 standards. When you’re hauling heavy trailers across long distances, that kind of solid build delivers the dependable backbone you want under your load.

Secure Grip Every Time You Hitch Up: Single-Hook Jaw with Self-Locking Plate

Hooking up is simple and secure. The precisely laser-cut wraparound jaw closes automatically around the king pin as soon as it’s in place, locking tight without extra steps. The self-locking hitch plate holds firm while reducing rattle compared to slide-bar jaws, so your trailer feels steady on the road. You can even lock it with a padlock (sold separately) for added peace of mind when parked.

Smooth Ride and Easy Handling: Dual-Pivot Head with No-Bind Design

The dual-articulating head pivots front-to-back and side-to-side to help limit chucking during travel. That flexibility keeps your ride smoother through bumps and uneven roads. The no-binding design also makes installation and removal easier than other OE puck systems—just drop it into the four built-in receiver pucks and secure it with top-mounted mounting posts.

Quick to Remove When You Need Bed Space: Two-Piece Design

When you want your truck bed cleared, this hitch comes apart easily into two manageable sections. The total base weight is 173 lbs, with a removable hitch plate that weighs just 43 lbs. That breakdown makes it simpler to handle without special equipment, so switching between towing duty and an open bed goes faster and easier.

Excellent product

Easy to assemble and to install very sa tisfied

Matthew D bailed me out of a jam created by the idiots at Amazon and exasperated by the even greater idiots at Camping World. Hitch and Ca[ture Plate arrived in a shorter time than advertised and was greatly appreciated. I was finally able to pick up my new 5th wheel and bring it home. THANK YOU MATT!!

I am a BIG fan of PullRite and the SuperGlide product. I bought this PUL28RR (2300 hitch with hardware for Ram HD factory bed prep). I installed it this weekend and it is definitely a two person job. My complaint with this setup is that unlike other SuperGlide hitches, there are tools required (3/4" wrench and 3/4" ratchet) if you want to temporarily remove the hitch to use the bed space. On top of that, the special brackets that fit the pre-formed slots in the Ram truck bed are "permanently" fastened because they utilize castle nuts and cotter pins to install them. The cotter pins are heavy duty and will require a great deal of strength to install and/or remove. I haven't towed with it yet but I'm positive it's more hitch than I need for my Montana High Country fifth wheel which is only about 14k pounds loaded. I appreciate the level of quality in the hitch, I just wish it were easier to remove the few times a year I need all of my truck bed.

I'm New to Fifth wheel systems but so far it looks really strong

by:

Still waiting on a capture plate to use it!

by:

Box was shipped upside down. Loose small parts in box. Nothing damaged or missing. Easy ordering. Delivered on time.

by:

Love the unit. Built well and looks amazing. The instructions was very instructional and simple. I installed the hitch in 30 minutes. That’s assembling the puck inserts and setting the unit in. I haven’t towed with it yet but looking forward to it.

by:

Easy to order and quick delivery. Easy to install (less than an hr)

by:

my 76 year young wife and my 76 year old body unwrapped, assembled, and installed this hitch in 1.5 hours. tomorrow we tackle the hitch plate installation. the most difficult part of the install was lining up the hold down levers with the bed pucks. photos will follow when the job is complete. so far this is looking like a great investment.

by:

My hitch arrived in perfect condition, The box wasn’t ripped or damaged at all The hitch was very easy to assemble everything for installation.

by:

So far so good after multiple trips. It is heavy, I used a overhead winch to load it in the bed, but it is solid. I don't think about turning, near full 90 degree turns and you don't even notice its working, always had PullRite hitches, great products and etrailer had great pricing and shipping!

by:

Works great in my new Ram 3500 mega cab short box.
Only problem was one of the bolts provided was not machined correctly. E trailer did offer me a refund for the bolt I had to purchase. Assembly and install was less than 2 hrs. Including the trip to the hardware store. Good job E trailer! Love your costumer service.

by:

I've been pulling my 5th wheel around with this slider hitch for a year now and it has worked perfectly. It fit right into my truck and has not given me any problems. I recommend this hitch to anyone who has a short bed with pre-installed receivers for the hitch.

by:

Eat your wheaties and call a friend before trying to install it! It’s a heavy beast but well made. It would be nice if Pullrite offered the 16k and 20k hitches with Ram prep towing set up for puck system without having to use a puck conversion rail. 24k is way overkill and expensive for 12k 5th wheel! With that said, I will never use a fixed 5th wheel hitch in a short bed PU again! The performance of the Super slide is outstanding and solid. Took it to a parking lot with the 5th wheel hooked up to test turns, turn radius, bed/tailgate/ sidewall clearances and it performs flawlessly!! Pleasantly surprised by the performance and expectations exceeded for clearance concerns. A trip down the interstate around town was solid and very stable. Very pleased with overall performance! Would highly recommend for anyone hauling with a 6 1/2 foot bed. It will save you the cost of body work and replacement of a rear window! Happy Trails!!

by:

Great product, easy shipping. Hitch recieved with no problems. Went with local etrailer recommended installer. Thanks Jerry, from Vere Inc., Saxonbburg, PA.
Note: Clearance on both rear mount puck handles will touch fender wells when removing / install hitch.

by:

It worked like a charm. I found out that using the OE puck system made it little difficult to get just right so the levers can be pulled out with ease when removing the hitch. Took additional 1 1/2 hours to make sure it was perfect.

by:

Delivery was quick and professional. This is my second PullRite SuperGlide and both have been easy to install and "bullet proof" when towing. Installation instructions are a bit vague, especially when documenting where to mount the side brackets; however, on-line was clear, 5 holes back for a Ford puck system.

by:

Hitch is very well made, which makes it heavy. This is why only 4 stars due to weight. Install was very easy. I do wish you could lock the hitch release once it is latched.

by:

Delivered quickly via Estes box truck. Easy to assemble. I have the factory installed gooseneck fifth wheel hitch prep package in my Ford F350. Installation was relatively simple. Just had a play around and get the pucks lined up with a post perfectly and then it dropped right in place. definitely recommend watching YouTube on the pole right super glad hitch. It will help you adjust it properly. Great all around. Extremely happy with a hitch and extremely happy with etrailer.

by:

300 lbs of slow and frustrating install when you are doing it alone. First catch plate was incorrect. Had to return and order the correct plate.
Once I got install attempting to hook up it would not fully lock.
I was hopeful but completely disappointed. I recommend finding something else.

by:

Quick shipping and while I've only towed with it once so far, it seems to work just as advertised. Was a bit tight the first usage, but after lubricating it with WD40, and learning to raise the pin box to the right height, it started latching better. Overall, I believe this hitch will live up to it's reputation.

Glad to hear it’s living up to its reputation for you Cliff, looks like this hitch is locked in for the long haul! Any upcoming adventures planned for the summer?

Overall, once the latching mechanism is well lubricated with WD40, as recommended, and after bending the trigger pin and breaking it off Pullrite sent me a replacement part quickly, and learning from Pullrite the best way to back the pinbox up to the hitch is to have the capture plate at a height near the bottom of the hitch plate and lit it slide up as you back into the hitch, will trigger the mechanism easily. And that certain works well now. I wish there was a way to raise the height of the hitch head, as we had trailer interference on the pickup bed on a tight turn where the truck was articulated uphill from the nose of the trailer. I am going to try lowering my trailer pinbox and see if I can get better clearance. That mishap cost me $3,200 in body repairs. Make sure you check you trailer nose clearance to the bed rails .. and after learning a hard lesson, you should be looking at a 5-6 inch clearance at a minimum when level. Overall, I do love the hitch!! And Pullrite was extremely responsive to my questions and need for a new replacement part.

  • Which Pullrite Superglide Fifth Wheel Hitch Fits 2024 Ford F-350 with OEM Pucks
Hey Dan, for your 2024 Ford F-350 that has the OEM pucks the correct Pullrite sliding hitch you need is the part # PUL73RR. The # PUL63RR fits the standard above bed fifth wheel rails that are 22 inches apart on center. What fifth wheel do you have?

  • Demco Hijacker Autoslide Fifth Wheel Hitch or Pullrite for 2022 Ford OEM Pucks
Hey Bruce, I would recommend going with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550024 that fits directly to the OEM pucks of your 2022 Ford F-350. The reason I like the Demco better than the Pullrite is because the Demco has an adjustable height unlike the Pullrite and because the Demco has adjustable brackets on the head of the hitch that allow it to lock out to the pin box whereas with the Pullrite you have to order the correct capture plate. How close to your cab do you think your...

Hey Tom, if you're not entirely married to the B&W the PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Factory Prep Package # PUL73RR is just as good and can get to you before the end of the month. This hitch also has a 20k capacity, will drop right into your OEM pucks, and has an automatic slider which won't require you to get out of the truck to move the hitch. • Can the PullRite SuperGlide be Used in a Long Bed Truck Without Activating Pivot Feature?
Hey Jeff! The PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch # PUL73RR will need the adapter no matter what. I spoke with my contact at PullRite and they said without the adapter plate to guide it, the hitch will just slam back and forth during towing. If you let me know what pin box you have I can let you know what adapter you need. I will say that if you for sure know you're going with a long bed truck then I highly recommend going with the stationary option as part # PUL79ZR which is not only...

Hello Edwin, Just as long as your Ford F-150 is a 2010-2019 the Adapter Rails for PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch - Ford Towing Prep Package # PUL55RR will convert it to your puck system. • Availability of Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2020 Ford F-350 With OEM Puck System
Hey Jon! The "with Below Bed Rails" title on those hitches is new and I can see how it can be confusing. However, the below bed rails it is referring to is the OEM prep package you already have on your 2020 F-350. The sliding 5th wheel hitches on that page are designed to fit your truck with the puck system. I tend to prefer the B&W Companion # BWRVK3370 you were looking at since they make a top quality product. All of the features packed into the Companion amount to a great towing experience....

  • Can PullRite PUL73RR Be Converted To Work With Industry Standard 5th Wheel Rails?
Hello David, thanks for reaching out. Yes, it is possible to convert your PullRite # PUL73RR puck system hitch so it will work with an industry standard rail system. What you will need is Pullrite part 2911 which is the short mounting foot set. Sadly, we do not carry this part here at etrailer but it will not be hard for you to find. That part would replace the mounting plates. We do have the rail kit for your 2016 Ford F-350, for that I recommend the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Installation...

  • Best Fifth Wheel Hitch for a 2004 Cedar Creek and Ford F-350 Super Duty Short Bed
Hi Andrew, With a 32-foot Cedar Creek and a short bed F-350, my top recommendation is going to be a PullRite SuperGlide automatic sliding hitch. Short bed trucks need additional cab-to-trailer clearance during tight turns, and the nice thing about the SuperGlide is that it automatically slides as you turn. You don't have to get out of the truck, pull a lever, or remember to reposition the hitch before backing into a campsite. It takes one of the biggest concerns of towing a fifth wheel...

Hello Toni, It all depends on whether or not your 2017 Ford F250 has the OEM Prep Package (puck system) or not. If you have the Prep Package you will have the 5 holes in the bed of your truck, middle hole would be for a gooseneck ball, and the other 4 holes are for a 5th wheel hitch. If you do have the Prep Package then the # PUL73RR would install directly into the pucks. If you do NOT have the Prep Package then you will want # PUL75RR, this part number will be the hitch and the rails...

  • How to Keep PullRite SuperGlide Hitch Head from Sliding Around When Unhitched
Hey Doug, thanks for reaching out! The PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch # PUL73RR has a pivoting head in addition to the auto-sliding feature. As long as you have everything setup correctly on level ground then this will be able to handle the elevation changes you'll see on the road. To keep the hitch from sliding I've got 2 different hacks: 1. Hey Ron! Between the three I would choose the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550024. I like the autoslide feature, which you can find with the PullRite SuperGlide # PUL73RR as well. However, the Demco also has an adjustable height setting which is what gives it the advantage. Hey Derrick, thanks for reaching out. As long as your tri-fold cover sits completely on top of the bed rails and doesn't have rails or hardware hanging down into the bed, you should be able to leave it installed with the PullRite SuperGlide 5th Wheel Hitch #PUL73RR in place. Hey Paul! The PullRite SuperGlide # PUL43RR (2714) and # PUL73RR (2914) do weigh the same. The main difference is the capacity, which is going to come from the base of the 5th wheel hitch. Since your 2027 Keystone Cougar 316RLS has a GVWR of 12,900 lbs you're well within the limits of both.
