Custom Hitch For a 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid
Updated 03/27/2026 | Published 03/06/2026 >
Question:
Hellos , from my understanding this part number DT79MR is the tow hitch that comes with 76342 sticker on the side? Also would 76342 fit a 2026 Hybrid CRV sport. I see many people with 76342 stickers installing on Hybrid models but I don’t see DT79MR on the sticker. Just want to confirm if it’s the same hitch or different hitches.

Hey, Jesse.
Completely understand wanting to confirm fitment. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame hitch, part #DT79MR, is the same as Draw-Tite's part number 76342. We just use a unique part number for our website.
This hitch will bolt up, but you will have to do some cutting to the underbody panel/fascia for the hitch. I attached a photo below showing how much needs to be removed.
What kind of plans do you have cooked up to use the hitch for?

This hitch works and fits perfectly once installed correctly it tucks under the bumper and dies not hang low so it stays hidden yes you need to cut under the bumper area also if you have the hands free rear trunk option you will need to change the sensor which is available from honda

I installed the hitch on my 2025 CR-V Sport. The "hardest" part is cutting the rear bumper cover because you don't want cut off more than absolutely necessary... But the template provided is perfect... I used a multi-tool saw for cutting, and that worked great. It's necessary to have a second pair of hands to hold the hitch in place during installation, although a floor jack might work too. But the hitch must be held in place and level during installation... Otherwise, installation was straightforward... Online video from E-trailer was very helpful, so check that out ahead of time.

I will be using this hitch to take my bikes to the beach. I recently bought this drawtite 76342 hitch receiver but missing the mounting hardware. What is the link or part number to the hardware needed for this specific receiver to mount onto my 2026 Hybrid CRV?

The hitch will bolt right up once you cut out the area that they’ve indicated. Dremel tool or multi tool saw works great. Get help holding the hitch in place. If you try bolting one side on the other won’t fit. Have to do it level. A floor jack worked great as a second set of hands. Good luck
