Features to know about

Long Loads Made Easy: 32" Over-Cab Cantilever Support

The built-in cantilever extension adds 32" of extra support over the cab, giving you space and strength for hauling pipes, lumber, and other long materials. It attaches directly to the front crossbar so weight is spread evenly across the system. The cantilever’s crossbar matches the rest of the rack with the same rigid, aerodynamic design, keeping airflow smooth and gear stable at highway speeds.

Thule TracRac SR cantilever over-cab extension attached to front crossbar, providing additional overhead support for carrying long loads over the truck cab.

Strong and Adjustable: Slides the Full Length of the Bed

This rack rides on T-track base rails that let you slide the uprights anywhere along the bed. Whether you’re carrying short gear or full-length materials, the rack moves to match the load. Quick-release knobs make repositioning simple—loosen, slide, and tighten. When you need more room, both rack sections can be moved together for full bed access or removed completely in minutes.

TracRac SR sliding truck bed ladder rack base rails installed on a pickup truck, showing aluminum construction and dual track design for adjustable uprights.

Thule TracRac SR sliding ladder rack sections positioned together at the front of a pickup truck bed for compact storage and improved aerodynamics.

Built to Carry Heavy Loads: 1,250-lb Capacity

With a 1,250-lb carrying capacity and 1,000-lb cantilever limit, this system is built for serious work. The wide base on each upright keeps everything steady without extra bracing. Included load stops and side cleats lock down lumber, ladders, and other gear so it stays secure while you’re on the move.

Thule TracRac SR aluminum load stops mounted in slotted crossbars, adjustable for securing ladders or lumber on a truck rack.

Thule TracRac SR side cleats attached to upright supports, providing extra tie-down points for securing cargo in a pickup truck bed.

Durable and Rustproof: 6000-Series Aluminum Construction

The entire system is made from lightweight 6000-series aluminum that won’t rust. Its internal web structure adds strength without excess weight. A dual-stage powder coat—an e-coat followed by a clear finish—protects against scratches and corrosion. That means it keeps looking clean even after years of job site use or rough weather.

Quick, No-Drill Installation: Mounts in Stake Pockets

The base rails sit on top of the bed rails and mount through the stake pockets, so no drilling is needed. Each rail includes two tracks for full adjustability of the rack and accessories. Foam padding under the rails cushions contact points, and the whole setup stays solid without damaging your truck.

I ordered, received and installed the trakrack ladder rack with cab extension. Etrailer I highly recommend as their service is excellent. I always buy from them. Since this product is aluminum, I did have a problem with some screws getting stripped but Etrailer fixed the problem. Once again excellent service. The ladder rack is sturdy and looks great. It is also light weight. It can be removed and adjusted to different lengths. It's a wow. I did add some bolts to the rails for my own confidence that it is bolted to the truck bed. Two words....buy it.

All trucks made in the last 10 years have varying width beds. The installation instructions state that the sliding rail bases must be exactly the same width along the trucks bed rails. This is impossible to do without having them extend over the rear bed rails, and the front rails extending inside the bed rails. My Chevy truck has a 2" differential in bed width at the front and rear. TracRac needs to take these dimensions into consideration when designing the next version of the sliding rail kit. Instead of drilling a ton of holes in the rails at the factory, let us drill our own, so we can line up the rails as we see fit. It would also be nice if you would design the bottom of the inside-front rails to include a recessed notch for us guys that have roll n lock bed covers. Then we could set the rails on top of the roll-n-lock cover, thus allowing better rail alignment, down the truck rails.

This has been one high quality truck rack. It went together reasonably well, has carried a variety of work and recreational loads for me around town and on the hwy. The design is very strong and flexible on my 6ft box and I love being able to slide rails forward or off based on access and truck load needs. It has also has very little road noise and fit reasonably well with my existing tanneau cover.

I had one tighten down knob break on impact (my fault and easily replaced at the hardware store) and my only product concern has to do with the sticky style leveling/mounting shims which have all but wiggled loose at this point. I will soon need to place some more permanent shims that can be anchored to the underside of the rails or on to my truck or something. It looks like I will have this for many more years.

Great service and fast shipping and handling. Melissa T. Was very helpful finding answers to compatibility questions with other components. Site has great video reviews on their products. Definitely recommend them!… Best prices too.

Great transaction and shipping was earl y.

by:

Its an excellent rack system. The only complaint I have that keeps it from 5 stars is the knobs to lock the slides in place are difficult to use due to the shape, I'd prefer a wind nut style for leverage and the hardware corroded substantially within 6 months and everything had to be removed and cleaned and reinstalled with antisieze to keep everything operational. Other than that it is an awesome set up and gets the job done.

by:

Shipping was quick As described Easy to assemble. Wish the kit had one set of directions so I wouldn't have had to take the front rack apart after the fact. The final bolts for the canteleaver seem to be a damage/ scratch hazard.
Looks pretty slick though.

by:

Does the trick. Benefits from occasional tightening and adjustment. The sliding vertical brackets on top are finicky. Very handy attachment points for bungees and straps.

Product is great and installed easily once I figured out that for my Ram 1500 Laramie, the pocket stakes are too big for the rubber blocks and won't work and I did have to drill thru the plastic molding. Once I figured out the stake holes wouldn't work I looked at the drawing again and the holes where Tundra is listed gave me the idea to try those. Those holes worked on the Ram and I ended up drilling out the "spikes" that hold the molding onto the sheet metal. No drilling thru the sheet metal was required, only the plastic.

Maybe I missed an install video for the Ram, it would have made the install much quicker and I wouldn't have to buy covers for my now cut out front stake pocket holes which weren't covered by the rails as I hoped they would.

I haven't installed the cantilever as I don't need it yet.

by:

The rack system is very well put together. I only had a couple of issues with the instalation.
There wasn't any directions with the base rails, so it took a bit to figure out how it went together and what holes to use for my truck.
The canteilever kit, The top bolt that holds the cross bar should be a button screw and square nut, not a square head bolt and nut. with the square head bolt and nut it could interfere with a long load since it sticks up and could catch on anything being loaded . All and all a nice rack.
I got this type of rack hoping that I could slide the rear post forward as to not interfere with my 5th wheel when towing it.
That part is yet to be dedurmined.

by:

I purchased the front rack with the cantilever over hang, toolbox track kit and rear rack and locking knobs.
Very happy with the final product.
Thanks.

This is an awesome system, and in my opinion, the best option to pair with the Retrax ProMX bed cover. The sliding rails for adjustable distance is awesome. Can't beat the versatility of this rack, and after adding additional load stops for cantilever rail, bolt on ratchet straps, and base rail tie down points (which will actually allow me to haul things on top of my bed cover, which is rated to carry 500lbs) this system completely changes my ability to haul whatever I need in my truck.

by:

Great product, super easy install. No drill application is wonderful and fast so I can put it to work to pay for itself, less than 2 hr installation.

by:

The product was super easy to install and it’s very stout even though it’s technically a ladder rack. I am in the water well business and use it for hauling my pipe galvanized, PVC you name it. I did have a little issue with two of the uprights but nothing that couldn’t stop me from installing it, I reached out to the support team and Joshua B was extremely helpful. They sent out replacement parts with a few days to make it right with me. I greatly appreciate all of their help.

I ordered the TracRac SR (sliding rack) for my 2019 Ram 3500. It took a while to get here, probably due to the current situation weall in. It came in 3 boxes on 2 days. (Just so you know what you'll be looking for) everything was packaged very secure in the boxes. I order the Cantilever with mine, so I had to swap out a couple parts. No big deal. Everything was explained in the instructions. It took me about 3 hours to install. The hardest part was getting the bed rails to align. I got them within 1/16th of an inch. Good enough.
The rack is a great addition to the truck. I stepped down from an 8ft bed to this 6ft 4in bed. So this was a necessity. The rack is solid. I'll be putting it to work right away

The TH43002XT-781EX installed onto my 2016 GMC 2500 HD Sierra 6-1/2 bed Denali pickup truck without drilling any holes. Total install time including the cantilever took about 2 1/2 hours with two people. The tools we used included a wide range of metric hex keys, a crescent and some metric open-endeds.

The base rails mounted to the bed rails using a threaded aluminum insert for the rear stake pockets (which align with a thru-hole already present in the bed) and an expanding rubber bushing for the front stake pockets (since the front pockets don't have a thru-hole). Evidently some pickup rails cant to one side or another so the base rail install kit includes shims but my truck did not require them.

Once installed the rails are rock solid and subsequently the racks are also rock solid. The cantilever comes with replacement saddles that mount up to the rack with a total of 12 bolts making the ensemble nearly missile proof. Almost all bolts are pre-treated with thread locker.

My truck already has knobby tires so I did not notice any particular additional wind noise.

My plan for the TracRac is to attach a custom mounted Rhino-Rack, which we'll be doing ourselves.

I like this product because the fitment on etrailer was reliable and I did not have to drill any holes or use any special tools. The rack is also ridiculously heavy duty, which is more than up to the job of holding the Rhino-Rack I'm going to custom fit to it. We'll be doing some off-roading so this heavy equipment gives me a lot of confidence.

Thule always makes great products and I am delighted with the TracRac and I'm very happy with etrailer's site.

by:

Pretty good ladder rack. I like having the ability to slide the racks if needed. The install is doable. If you are installing the cantilever, make sure you swap out the top mount before assembling the top bar. The legs come pre-assembled with the regular top mount from the factory. The regular top mount has to be removed and the cantilever top mount installed to assemble the cantilever part of the ladder rack. Also, the bolts that hold the top mount on have loctite on them from the factory and are really hard to remove. I ended up stripping the bolts out. etrailer was very helpful and sent me a replacement hardware kit with all the bolts needed to finish the install. Between the directions provided and a few YouTube videos, the install was pretty straightforward. I am very happy with the product overall.

Love it! kayaks, ladders anything too long to fit in a five and three-quarter bed go on the ladder rack. It slides out of the way when I have big bulky things like refrigerator to put in the back of the truck. And I got to keep the tonneau cover that came with the truck.

by:

I just received the Thule rack, so have not installed them yet. The service from etrailer was outstanding!

by:

I bought these for my 2018 Ford F 150 5.5foot bed.
These are definitely one of the more expensive ladder racks you can buy but totally worth it. Very high quality and easy to install. I bought these for the ease of removal.
I use etrailer.com for all my vehicle needs.

The parts came in on time and Lauren stayed in contact with me throughout the whole process. She is incredible at what she does and my racks look great and function perfectly for my construction needs! Thanks etrailer!

by:

The movable rack let's it be mostly out of the way when not in use without removing from truck. The high load rating plus cantilever let's me haul long semi flexible objects (the flexing puts a significant strain on the rack)even with a shorter bed.

  • Ladder Rack that Fits 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body with Movable Rear Crossbar
I believe I have a great solution for you, but the rear crossbar of the Buyers Products ladder rack part # 3371501410 that you referenced was not designed to be easily removed. So a better option for your 2007 Chevy Silverado would be a TracRac Sliding Ladder rack that has the over cab extension like the part # TH43002XT-501EX. The rear bar can slide forward as needed to help with taller items like you mentioned. If you have an 8 foot bed you'd instead want the part # TH43002XT-000EX,...

  • TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Over-the-Cab Extension Recommend for a 2014 GMC 1500
We have options for you, but it depends on the bed length of your 2014 GMC 1500 long bed. If you have a 5-1/2 foot bed you would want the part # TH43002XT-608EX. For a 6-1/2 foot bed you would need the # TH43002XT-501EX and for an 8 foot bed you would want the part # TH43002XT-000EX. All the mentioned racks are TracRac ladder racks with over the cab extensions. Since these install on the top of the bed rails they shouldn't interfere with your bed rail LEDs either.

  • Ladder Rack Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab Short Bed
The DeWalt ladder rack DIGFFR360 is discontinued and no longer available. But it has a universal fit so it should work on a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500, crew cab, short bed. I have included a link to all of the ladder racks listed as a fit for your 2014 GMC Sierra. You will just need to select if you have the 5-1/2 foot short bed or the 6-1/2 foot short bed. TracRac ladder rack # TH43002XT-501EX has an over the cab extension but only fits the 6-1/2 foot beds. For the 5-1/2 foot bed you would...

  • TracRac Sliding Ladder Rack that Fits 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 5-1/2 ft Bed and Tonneau
The Thule TracRac SR Sliding Ladder Rack with Cantilever Extension part # TH43002XT-608EX is a confirmed fit for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. Then for a tonneau cover that would fit and work great with this you'd want the Bak Revolver # BAK39100 which is narrow enough to fit between the base rails of the TracRac without interfering with them as it rolls up unlike the other tonneau options.

  • Thule Ladder Rack Recommendation for 2010 Chevy Silverado that Allows Easy Removal of Rear Bar
The rear bar of the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # EM07707 is technically removable but it's not easily removable. Like you wouldn't easily be able to take the rear bar off and on if that's your goal. You'd have to take the upright assembly apart as well. For a similar ladder rack that allows the rear bar to be removed which is a confirmed fit for your 2010 Chevy Silverado you'd want the Thule TracRac Ladder Rack part # TH43002XT-000EX for if you have an 8 foot bed, or...

  • Will the TracRac Part # TH43002XT-608EX Work with an Access Tonneau Cover on a 2013 Chevy Silverado
Yes, the TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # TH43002XT-608EX should work with any of the Access tonneau covers we have listed as a confirmed fit for your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 but we had not had a chance to test this yet. All of the Access tonneau covers we have listed for your vehicle attach to the inside of the bed rail whereas the TracRac SR attaches to the top of the bed rail hence their potential compatibility. I have included a review video of the TracRac SR for you.
