How To Prevent A Bike Rack That Wobbles While Driving

Question:
Saris Superclamp EX-2 rack installed on a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek with a 2” hitch. I installed my rack a few days ago and there is a TON of wobble while I’m driving. The bike is attached to the rack correctly, and it is under the 60 lb weight limit. The 2” adapter came installed on the rack. I’ve checked to make sure that all of the bolts are tight, and that doesn’t seem to be the issue. I did notice that the hitch pin lock is different than the one shown. The one shown is yellow and the bolt s into the bottom of the lock. Mine is gray and the bolt s into the side of the lock. Could this be the cause of my wobble? If not, are there any other things I could try to reduce the wobble?

Some wobble is unavoidable with bike racks like the Saris Superclamp # SA4025F. To help limit the wobble, you can use this anti rattle # C27UR. I've used it and it works really well especially for vertical movement. If you haven't already, double check all the bolts on the carrier and when you're tightening down the anti rattle bolt that comes with the rack be sure to wiggle the rack up and down when tightening it.
