Just installed it in under a minute, and if it stays tight I will love it. So easy and simple.
The clamp worked great until it hit a cattle gate at the entrance to the Badlands Nat’l Park in So Dakota.
I can’t blame the clamp for the failure. My trailer hitch was too low. But the clamp performed as expected until my mistake!
Continues to eliminate the hitch rattle. The coating did start to allow some minor rust. The rust surprised me because eastern Tennessee where I now live, does not use much salt.
I was hoping for a hitch clamp I could put on & take off without tools. This one had potential, but it would not lock tight enough. When I tried to tighten it, the plastic washer at the hinge point just bunched up and got mangled. It never would tighten enough and the bottom of the clamp wouldn't set properly. Disappointing. I had to go with my old one with washers & nuts using a wrench.
Not worth buying. The cam system doesn’t provide enough range, so you end up needing a wrench to tighten or loosen it. Also, I was using it with a 75lb load distributing hitch that I can’t handle with one hand, and I found I had to fully loosen the anti-rattle device to prevent it binding up as I tried to remove or insert the hitch.
It kinda works, but I not great. When you try and clamp it down it grinds aluminum to aluminum. So you have to try and lube the lever to the clamp. It really doesn’t keep the hitch from banging with a trailer on. It works great if it’s just the hitch and your on bumpy roads to keep it from rattling but not with a loaded trailer.
I like the design which allows you to mount/unmount the device without the need for tools.
2023 Honda Pilot EX-L Curt custom 4 way flat wiring connector etrailer # C48ZV. Step No.5 in the Curt instructions needs to be ignored, there is no need for a new power wire to the vehicle battery.The curt converter box gets power from the vehicle wiring. When connecting the white curt connector to the vehicle connector the release clip on the curt connector goes on the right side. Had to use a borescope to figure this out. One 30 amp fuse needs to be added in main fuse box position 7 and one 20 amp fuse needs to be added in main fuse box position 12. The Curt instructions do not include this. Used a 3/16 machine screw and locknut to secure ground wire to existing hole in steel support after removing trim panel in front of storage area.
This carrier was easy to assemble, though I did have to borrow a torque wrench. It seemed important to follow the mfg's spec on that to make sure it didn't rattle apart. It's very wide and when loaded with a matching 2' high cargo bag it obscures my Subaru Ascent tail lights some, so I ordered the light kit. Reasonable price, also easy to install and works fantastic. I've got over 5000 miles using it and zero issues. This is a huge addition to cargo capacity in this class of SUV (Ascents and Pilots) It's even a bigger difference on my neighbor's Highlander). Highly recommended.
This Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp made a big difference! I have a reasonably large bike rack that can hold up to six mountain bikes. Before getting the Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp, I had to go extra slow on any dip, or my fully loaded rack would hop. Now the ride is so much smoother, and no more loud hops! I recommend it.
Rusts and corrodes easily. Used mine once and removed right afterwards and it now is unusable.
Not really a good solution for wobble.The reason this is low quality is due to the fact that the handle that is the leverage point to lock down the unit is made from lower quality metal and it actually bends when you try to lock down right. Anything less than making sure it's tight does not have an affect on the wobble that was created from my motorcycle carrier. I did end up giving this away and ordering a bolt down version instead of the cam style. It made significant improvements to the wobble.

For an alternate anti rattle that is more robust I would recommend part # RM-061 instead. It does bolt down like an u bolt does.
This Curt clamp works as advertised and after installing it upside down to clear the Canyon bumper cover, it was a cinch to adjust and provide anti-rattle protection for my hitch. It is very easy to install and tighten without the use of a single tool. Great product!

Great product that ends the dreaded hitch ball mount rattle. Heartily recommend as an inexpensive fix and it looks great while keeping things quiet.
The metal is not strong enough. I had to retighten it with every use to prevent rattling. I also had to install it upside down because I could not open/close the handle due to bumper interference. The parts rusted, wore out, stretched and bent. I'm buying another anti-rattle device. I do not recommend this item. The opening handle looks convenient but it is inadequate and will not last long.
Very pleased with price and quality. I was surprised the new assemblies didn’t come with new nuts and lock washers.

It did what it said it would do. However, it didn’t last very long. It broke after about six months of use. Which really wasn’t much use because I only pulled the trailer maybe five times one be a pretty long trip across the country.

I purchased this device because it would be easy to transfer between vehicle's. It works fine for awhile, but becomes loose on long drives. Going to try adding a lock washer on the left side and see if that helps
will not work well for a ram truck with standard bumper can't get it tight

I think that with your hitch tucked under the bumper that the u bolt style anti rattle device is not the best option. You might be able to turn it upside down and see if it tightens this way.
As advertised, great old school customer service! Bought to alleviate very slight rattle on hitch for our Road Toad teardrop trailer. Highly recommend etrailer.com for your needs. They modified my order quickly over the phone in a very pleasant customer experience.
Good design. Mounts much faster than my previous anti-rattle device which requires a wrench to tighten two bolts.
The downside is the design of the Genesis GV80 and trailer hitch prevents upright mounting of the clamp. There’s not enough clearance to operate the clamp. Simply inverting the clamp works but requires reaching underneath to dismount.
This is a good product if used for the purpose it was made for. I thought it would make the hitch mounted carrier a lot more stable. It did help but just not as much as I thought it should.

review update after multiple uses. it worked as designed and stopped the hitch from rattling. I am satisfied with, and recommend this item. it is the best design i found for an easy on off use. YET, please note, it will not last for ever. The slip washer on the nut will tear up and fall off after a couple onoff cycles. The chromed cast aluminum part corrodes from exposure. If you expect to use it often, it wont last forever. These are not negatives. Just reality. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The product continues to perform well. It is in the weather all the time. The minor surface rust has not gotten much worse.
