1-Bike Rack Compatible With Class I, 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hi, I am looking at the RockyMounts RKY10007 model for my 2017 Honda HR-V with a Curt C11416 hitch. The concern I have is that the etrailer information on the RockyMounts model states its good for use with Class I hitches, but the RockyMounts company website says it can only be used with Class II hitches. Have you have success installing the MonoRail on Class I hitches? If so, why would RockyMounts say not to use with Class I hitches? Thanks.

Thanks for the purchase of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11416 for your 2017 Honda HR-V, and while I couldn't find exactly where it was referenced on the product page that the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1-Bike Rack # RKY10007 was compatible with Class I hitches, you are 100 percent correct that it is NOT compatible with a Class I, 1-1/4" hitch and requires a Class II hitch.
We do have an excellent option for a 1-bike rack that I confirmed is compatible with a Class I, 1-1/4" hitch, which is the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU64FR
This is a wheel-mounted rack that includes a cable lock to protect your bike. It will work with one bike that is up to 60 lbs.
