Which Bike Rack is More Stable Thule T2 XTB or Saris SuperClamp EX

Updated 08/18/2020 | Published 05/15/2018

Question:

I have a 2inch receiver. I am considering the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - Wheel Mount Item # SA4025F or theThule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Tilting - Black Item # TH9034XT. One of your Q/As said the Saris was a little more stable than the Thule, but wasnt sure which model. Also cant find the weight of the Saris. Any thoughts/recommendations about these 2 or any other model? Thanks

I attached test course videos down below that show the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4025F and the Thule T2 Pro XTB 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9034XT both being driven on our test course. It appears the T2 is noticeably more stable.

It is considerable heavier at 52 lbs compared to the 35 lbs of the Saris so that might be how it's able to be more stable. Both are amoung the nicest racks money can buy though so you can't go wrong with either.

We have two Specialized Como 4.0 ebikes with fenders. What would be the best hitch rack to be used on our 2019 GMC Acadia? Also, when will the Thule 903202 be available?

Take a look at the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202. I think this is a perfect rack for your Specialized Como e-bikes. It features a 65 pound per-bike capacity, adjustable frame clamps that will avoid any fender interference, features an integrated ramp to help with loading, and weighs in at just about 45 pounds.
