Do Smaller Trailers with Single Axles Come with Brakes Installed
Updated 11/09/2020 | Published 11/06/2020 >
Question:
I want to buy a single axle enclosed trailer and convert it to electric brakes. I have a 4 cylinder GMC Canyon with the proper wiring harness. So my question is: what is the easiest single axle enclosed trailer to convert or is there a trailer out there that is single axle and has electric brakes. Also what size trailer do you recommend for my truck? If I go the conversion route what else will I need in addition to the trailer?

Expert Reply:
It's very common for smaller single axle trailers to have brakes installed on them already. Most likely if you look you'll find options in the size you want that are already set up with brakes. This would be the easiest and most cost efficient way to go, but if not I attached a help article on adding trailer brakes to a suspension axle for you to check out as well.
