Question:

Your information states that compatibility of using the 542 brackets with the Yakima towers is unknowninch . Since you guys are the experts, have you ever tried to put the Yakima tower in the Thule bracket? If so, I would expect an honest answer, not just what the manufacturers expect you to say. There are plenty of pictures on the internet, even on your own web site, that shows that they can work fine. What is the real information about using brackets from other manufacturers, not just the information from the manufacturer? Of course Yakima wants consumers to use their products!! The cost of the Yakima bracket is much higher, for essentially the same product.

The reality is that both the Yakima and Thule artificial rain gutters were designed to mimic the same thing so they would work between each other. The rain gutters they tried to emulate is a universal design. So either the # TH542 or # Y08002 would work well.
