Troubleshooting RV Slide Out that Makes Grinding Noise In and Out
Question:
Grinding sound when slide is going out and in thks
asked by: Frank
Expert Reply:
When RV slide outs start grinding the issue is sometimes something dragging on something else in the track. It can be that the tracks had something fall into them and now that is what you are hearing or they are misaligned.
Sometimes it can also be a stripped gear. Sometimes it can also be that the motor and gear box isn't all the way tightened down. Best option is to get underneath the slide out and inspect everything and you'll most likely see the issue. Or you can take it to an RV shop in your area and they'll be able to inspect it and fix it.
If you do need a replacement gear pack let me know what you have know and I'll see what we have.
