How to Determine Circuit Breaker Amp Rating for a 2018 Venture Sonic 200VML
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I have a 2018 Venture Sonic 200VML that is having 12V issues. I get plenty of juice from the battery and the converter. The breakers on the outside of the batter look very corroded. I sprayed them with some lubricant and the system ran a little better. I cannot read the amperage on the one circuit breaker, but one of them is a 10A breaker. Can you tell me what the other breaker should be? Ive seen a forum that says 40 Amp but the manual has a picture of a 30 Amp so I need to be sure. Thanks.

I can help you figure out what your circuit breakers are rated for but unfortunately I don't know what circuit breakers came on your 2018 Venture Sonic 200VML. I can say that we typically recommend using either a 20A or 30A circuit breaker for the 12V power so if your manual says 30A then I would tend to lean that way.
You can be 100% certain by disconnecting all of your wiring and removing those covers on the circuit breakers you should then be able to tell the rating as the circuit breakers should be marked for that. For example, I have attached a photo of the Pollak 30A Circuit Breaker # PK54530 for you to reference.
Since the terminals and eyelets in your picture look like they have corrosion on them (like you mentioned) now would be a great time to clean the circuit breakers and the eyelets. Once you have them clean and free of corrosion you should see an improvement with the performance of your 12V power. I recommend applying some dielectric grease like part # 11755 to all of your connections as well to help prevent corrosion from debris and water in the future.
